Nine Techniques of the Scarlet Blade

Milito's signature sword-style each combining elven elegance and mercenary ruthlessness, honed into a seamless sequence. Rain was taught to flow through them in order, but each can also stand alone in the heat of battle:

1.Scarlet CrescentA broad, horizontal arc that channels a thin ribbon of Uud along the blade's edge. Designed to sweep aside multiple foes in one motion, it lays the groundwork for the Scarlet Blade's relentless momentum.

2.Bloodline ThrustA sudden, linear lunge aimed at an opponent's vital point. Milito taught Rain to drive Uud into the tip of his sword at the moment of impact, guaranteeing penetration through even the toughest armor.

3.Vermilion FlowA fluid, continuous series of slashes—each strike following the last as though dancing along a single, unbroken flood of Uud. This move blurs vision and balance, overwhelming defenders with its graceful speed.

4.Crimson EchoAfter a solid strike, Rain channels a pulse of residual Uud into the wound. The blade's blade vibrates, sending a shockwave back through the enemy's body to unbalance or stagger them.

5.Phoenix DescentA vaulting leap combined with a downward slash. At its apex, Rain infuses the blade with a burst of Uud so that on descent the strike carries the weight of a falling star, shattering shields and helmets alike.

6.Sanguine ParryA perfected defensive riposte. Rain meets an incoming blow and redirects its force, drawing Uud into his blade to send the redirected energy surging back against his attacker.

7.Ember BlossomA spinning technique where each rotation leaves behind fleeting "petals" of red-glowing Uud in the air. These motes can scorch flesh or distract foes, creating momentary openings for follow-up strikes.

8.Bloodfire ResonanceMilito's most demanding mid-sequence flourish: Rain channels Uud from both sword and body to awaken the blade's inner "heart." The sword hums with crimson light, and each cut burns like embers against bone and steel, eroding defenses over time.

9.Final Scarlet VowThe culminating technique. Rain plants his feet, grounds his will, and pours every last ounce of resolve into one decisive stroke. The blade cleaves not only flesh but the very flow of Uud around his foe, this move can end a battle in an instant, but demands total mastery and leaves the user drained of Authority until they recover.

ExplanationMilito's Nine Techniques form a rising tide of aggression and precision. You begin with broad sweeps (Scarlet Crescent), tighten into focused strikes (Bloodline Thrust, Vermilion Flow), build momentum (Crimson Echo, Phoenix Descent), shift to defense and counterattack (Sanguine Parry), then unleash area control (Ember Blossom), potent degradation (Bloodfire Resonance), and finally the all-or-nothing finish (Final Scarlet Vow).

Mastering all nine in sequence doesn't just hone Rain's body, it forges his will, preparing him for the battles that lie beyond any mortal scale.

Rain develops six more techniques along with the nine:

10. Ultraviolet

11. Brilliant sun

12. Red star

13. Dawn's embrace

14. Blue Dwarf

15. Son of the sun

House von-Virmethorn: a special chronicle

I.

In ages when the Titans roamed the sky,

Laureth's blade was dawn's first silver cry;

He stood beside his sire, unbowed, unmoved,

A sun of steel through thunderclouds he proved.

II.

Yet kinship's blood was stained by Canithr's hand

The giant's treachery that scarred the land.

With righteous wrath, brave Laureth struck the blow

That severed fate and cast them both below.

III.

Banned from hearth and hall, the sword and son withdrew

To elven glades where ancient forests grew.

From exile's sorrow sprang their secret seed,

A tribe of light-born kin to fill their need.

IV.

Then Mireth rose...his youth aflame with ire,

To finish vengeance sparked by ghostly fire.

He hunted down the heirs of giant-blood,

Revealing wrath had many forms of good.

V.

But as the years unspooled, the son discerned

That mirrored hate would leave all hearts unlearned.

He swept aside the sword and shifting thorn,

Embraced the sun to speak of lessons worn.

VI.

A sigil new: a silver thorn in gold,

A blazing orb to warn the brave and bold

That light, though bright, may blind the truest sight,

And sharpened truths can pierce illusion's night.

VII.

Through centuries of wind and cloud he strove,

Till Aeremir, descendant filled with love,

Became the Sky Leviathan on high

A living storm to guard the vaulted sky.

VIII.

Thus von-Virmethorn's long legacy entwines

The dance of light with thorn, in ancient lines.

From war's harsh dawn to guardian of the breeze,

Their tale endures in whispering storm-song seas.

IX.

From Midgard's glades to exile's mournful song,

Laureth wandered, righting what was wrong;

Yet in his grandson's dawn-bright, thorn-pierced light,

His name was crowned again, wrong turned to right.
