Kill Me, My Husband

"Kill me," she whispered, almost breathless, pointing the gun in her husband's hand at her throat.



"I can't. And I won't, Layna..." Fyodor's usual radiant deep blue eyes glistened with tears, slowly breaking under his wife's request.



"I killed our child. You should kill me, Your Grace."



"But you didn't mean to do that, Layna."



Layna smiled bitterly, thinking, 'I shouldn’t have loved you. You shouldn’t have loved me. If only one of us could escape these feelings, we wouldn’t have to face such tragedy again and again. We wouldn’t have to lose our child every time we find each other.'



"You're such a fool, Fyodor," Layna whispered before pulling the trigger on her husband's behalf.
