Natalia’s words painfully rang in my ears. But instead of showing how affected I am with her words, I summoned a sweet smile on my lips and stared back at her. “Shall I inform him of your arrival?” I whispered, making sure she’s the only one to hear them.
Color spread on her cheeks while she fought my eyes. Then something that resembled anger sparkled in her eyes. She opened her lips, but no words emerged from them.
When she met my eyes again, the anger I thought I saw cross her eyes was gone. It was replaced with a look cold enough to freeze the depths of hell. “No need to do that, Miss De Silva.” She finally spoke after a long moment of silence. “Grey will be here soon.” She added smoothly.
“While waiting for Mr. Bradford, may I offer you some refreshments?” I asked, maintaining the civil politeness in my tone. Natalia looked away as though the sight of me was sore in the eye. With a flick of her finger, she dismissed me. It was like she was shoving a pest to go away.
