Sharp lightning carved to the sky, it was followed by the deafening sound of thunder. The rain began to pour and I ran to my car before the rain could completely wet my clothes.
I didn't look back to check if Grey had followed. I just want to escape from this place quickly.
Opening the car, I climbed inside and closed the door. Without a moment's delay, I turned the engine on and maneuvered the car out of the cemetery's parking area.
The tears I'd been trying to suppress broke free. It trickled down my flushed cheeks then slipped further down my lips where I tasted the saltiness.
I'm far from the cemetery now but my mind was still on the man I left behind.
Why does my heart still race like crazy and my pulse skitter everytime I see him? Why does it still hurt me inside even though I told myself I don't love him anymore?
Those questions are simple and yet, I couldn't answer them on my own.
I continued to drive in silence until my tears finally stopped.
