“Do you think I would believe that?” She said softly, looking me straight in the eye. There was a knowing look in her eyes as though she was able to read past my thoughts and uncover my deepest, darkest secret. “No one would believe that, Lily. Ask anyone who sees the way you look at him and they would point out you're lying.”
“I'm telling the truth.” I tried to convince her but the way I say the words was not convincing at all. She wasn't buying it.
“Nah, I could tell if someone is lying right away. I haven't told you but I'm a Psychology graduate. I have studied people's behavior and knew when they are being honest or not.”
I couldn't take her gaze anymore and my eyes dropped to the table. It was hard to look at her now that I knew she could clearly read me like an open book.
