Entering the door first, wearing a grim expression on his face, was father. Walking alongside him was mom with an equally grim expression plastered in her beautiful face. The sight made me bite my lower lip in guilt. I made them worry again. I thought to myself, sighing. Following behind Sophia and Philip were my brothers - six of them - looking worried as hell. My whole family is almost complete and only grandma was missing. The sight of them elicited more attention from the crowd gathered around the area. Everyone instantly recognized them.
The group immediately rushed through my direction as they quickly spotted me seated on one of the plush velvet sofas adorning the lobby. Mom reached me first. “Are you okay, Lily?” She asked as she sat down beside me. Her eyebrows scrunched in worry as she examined me from head to toe. She saw my red and swollen ankles. It made her frown deepen even more. “It's worse than I imagined.” She mumbled under her breath.
