Chapter 90 I will be waiting.

LEON'S POV

I slammed my fist onto the desk and the papers scattered across the surface as my Beta stood before me.

"Carlyle," I growled. "I want this nonsense removed. Every last piece of it. The rumors, the stories, whatever they've been whispering about my woman."

Carlyle crossed his arm with a frown creasing his face.

"Leon, with all due respect, it's not that simple. These things have already spread across the pack. People are talking. They’re afraid of her, and honestly, I can’t say I blame them. The rogue’s testimony, Thea’s rumors... it’s not something we can just erase."

I glared at him. “You’re supposed to be my Beta, Carlyle. Your job is to keep the pack in line. I don’t care how hard it is, I want this under control.”

He met my gaze, but I could see the doubt in his eyes.

“Leon... maybe it’s time to consider what’s best for the pack. Maybe Irene leaving for a while would calm things down. Give people space to forget.”

At his words, my control slipped.
