Chapter 43 I NEED AN INVITATION CARD!

LEONARD'S POV:

"So, the annual business dinner is coming up soon and I want to attend. I want the pass to the event" I confidently said, my gaze fixed on Catherine as I waited for her response.

The weight of the situation bore down on me, a constant reminder of how precarious my position had become. I didn't care how she planned to do it. It was her fault that I was in this mess, and she had promised to rectify it.

I studied her closely when she didn't respond immediately, her silence filling the room like a thick fog.

"You promised to fix things remember, so that's how to start?" I reminded her, because if it weren't for the problem she got us into, having an affair with the magistrate and I, Liora's Dad wouldn't have fetched any evidence that will hinder The judge from favoring us in that case.

"Okay, I will see what I can do," she finally replied, her voice lacking the conviction I desperately needed to hear.
