LIORA'S POV;
The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the kitchen as I grabbed my coffee cup. It was one of those calm moments I cherished before the chaos of the day began. I was already dressed for work, mentally preparing for the busy day ahead, when a sudden knock at the door shattered the peaceful silence.
I froze mid-step, my hand hovering above the steaming coffee. A frown creased my forehead as I wondered who could possibly be at my door this early.
“Who could that be?” I muttered to myself, wiping my hands on my apron as I walked toward the door.
The second I swung it open, my heart stopped. Standing there, looking every bit like a ghost from my past, was Leonard. My ex-husband.
“Leonard?” I whispered, my voice betraying the shock I felt. Of all people, he was the last person I expected—or wanted—to see.
“Surprised to see me, Liora?” His voice was calm, too calm, as his gaze settled on me with a mix of curiosity and smugness.
