LIORA'S POV:
As the car entered the bustling city of Veridian, I dialed Nikolai's number, feeling a tight knot form in my stomach. The weight of the situation clung to me like a heavy cloak.
"Hello, Nikolai? Which hospital were they admitted to?" I asked, my voice steady despite my racing thoughts.
"Griffen Medic Care," he responded, his voice calm and assured over the phone.
"Okay, thanks." I hung up and turned to the driver. "Griffen Medic Care, please."
"It's close by. Won't take long," the driver confirmed.
I nodded, distracted by my own thoughts.
Shawn, my younger brother, leaned closer. "If I'm not mistaken, isn’t that the family’s go-to hospital?"
"Yeah," I replied, gazing out the window. "The last time Mr. Eric was admitted, it was here."
The driver came to a halt as we arrived in front of the hospital. I paid the fare, and as we got out of the car, Shawn cleared his voice, pulling my attention.
