LIORA'S POV;
I had just finished dressing up, ready to head out to work, when I glanced at my phone, realizing my Uber was still a no-show. Typical. And to make matters worse, Shawn had taken off with "the car he picked from the family house," leaving me stranded.
It wasn’t until this morning that I pieced together the real reason Shawn had swung by my place. He didn’t come to stay with me for no just reason; it was because of the basketball competition at Ravenwood. He’d registered himself and left early this morning for practice, leaving me with no ride.
I checked my watch, anxiety bubbling up inside me. I had to be at the studio this morning to wrap up an important project. Time was ticking away, and I couldn’t afford to be late, not today.
Sighing, I decided to walk through the estate, hoping that maybe the Uber would magically show up soon. As I passed by some of the familiar houses, I suddenly heard a voice I’d been actively avoiding.
