RONAN'S POV
Last night was a disaster, and I knew it the moment the applause died down. What I did wasn’t just impulsive—it was downright inconsiderate. Yes, I had the ring with me, but proposing like that, in front of everyone, especially Liora, was a mistake. The evening was supposed to be about her, celebrating her success, not about me or my relationship with Sophie. I should have waited, should have chosen a more appropriate time and place. Somewhere quiet. Somewhere private. Somewhere that didn’t make me feel like I’d stolen her moment.
I turned over in bed, expecting to find Sophie beside me, but the sheets were cold. “Sophie?” I called out groggily, my voice still thick with sleep. There she was, standing by the window, phone pressed to her ear, whispering urgently. I couldn’t make out what she was saying, but her tone sounded hurried, almost secretive.
