LIORA'S POV;
The night air bit at my skin as I pulled my coat tighter, hurrying toward the cinema where Grandma Matilda had invited me to a comic show. After the week I’d had, I desperately needed something lighthearted—something that could make me laugh and forget, even if only for a couple of hours.
As I neared the entrance, my eyes caught Mummy Matilda and her kids stepping out of the building. Confusion prickled at me. They were supposed to be watching the show too—weren’t they?
“Wait—don’t tell me the show’s already over?” I blurted, stopping in front of them.
Mummy Matilda’s warm smile eased my concern. “No, it hasn’t even started yet.”
Relief washed over me, but it didn’t explain why they were leaving.
Elizabeth, her eldest, chimed in. “Granny reserved a spot for you—a really good one. No interruptions, clear view. You’ll love it.”
“That’s… really sweet of her,” I said, relaxing a little. “Thanks.”
“It’s up on the first step,” Elizabeth added. “Trust me, it’s perfect.”
