LIORA'S POV

The sun was scorching, but the heat that burned through me had nothing to do with the weather.

I had come to the beach to clear my head, to forget the mess Ronan had made of my life, and to focus on myself for once. The waves crashed against the shore, and the scent of salt hung heavy in the air. It was supposed to be peaceful.

But then he showed up.

Ronan. He was supposed to be very mad, after the way I treated him this morning.

And worse—he wasn’t wearing a shirt.

I nearly choked on my drink when I saw him stride down the sand, his body golden under the sun, muscles rippling with every step. The man had the audacity to look like a Greek god, as if he didn’t already know what he was doing to me.

I turned away quickly, hoping he hadn’t seen me, but of course, I wasn’t that lucky.

"Hey?" His voice was smooth, almost amused, but I wasn’t in the mood to play games.

I shoved my sunglasses higher on my nose and pretended not to hear him.

But he didn’t take the hint.
