Aubrey’s pov ;
The sound of Ryder's voice dripped with contempt as he sneered on the phone. “I knew you'd come crawling back."
"I want to meet with you," I declared, trying to keep my voice steady despite the rush of emotions.
There was a tense pause, and for a moment, I wondered if he'd agree to see me. "Fine," he finally spat out. "Meet me at our old house tomorrow at 2 PM. Come alone."
As I hung up the phone, my heart raced with anticipation. The last thing I wanted was to face him again, especially after everything he had done. But I knew there was no choice. I needed to confront him and try to make sense of all that had happened.
The drive to the house took forever, my mind racing with thoughts of what Ryder could possibly want from me now. Memories of our past confrontation, his threats, and now his takeover of the company swirled in my mind. What more could he possibly do to torment me? And why was he so desperate to make my life a living hell?
