After a while, the car pulled up in front of a restaurant.
"Why did you stop here?" Emily asked, confused.
Without answering, Nicholas got out of the car, walked to her side, and opened the door, offering her his hand. Emily narrowed her eyes, eyeing him suspiciously. Nicholas, feeling helpless, leaned in and whispered, "We’re having dinner. Come on."
Emily closed her eyes in frustration. "I’m not hungry."
"But I am. Come on. Don’t make me wait. Or do you want me to carry you out myself?" Nicholas said, grabbing her hand and preparing to lift her.
"No, I can walk myself," Emily said hurriedly, getting out of the car.
"It’s fine. I can carry you if you’d rather not walk," Nicholas teased her, wrapping his arms around her.
Emily snorted and pushed against him, but he held his ground.
