When Emily arrived at the hospital, an hour had already passed. She spotted Noah anxiously pacing by the entrance. "Noah? What's going on?" Emily asked, concern etched on her face.
"Mrs. Sinclair, you're late. Boss is furious and has refused to leave until you show up," Noah replied.
Emily clenched her jaw, realizing that Nicholas must have assumed she wouldn’t come. His behavior was childish, and she couldn’t understand why he was acting this way. As she entered the room, she was struck by Nicholas’s dark expression; he looked as if he could drown in his own gloom. He shot her a cold glare and said, "It only takes half an hour to get here from your office. Why did you arrive so late?"
Rolling her eyes, Emily replied, "I had to finish my work first. And, you know, traffic can be unpredictable."
Nicholas's tone turned icy. "Didn’t you claim you were just a cleaner at the company? Do ordinary employees have other duties?"
