The following day, after making sure that she was okay to be left on her own, Gadreel had gone home, of course, with the promise of checking on her every now and then and waiting to hear back from her concerning his request to escort her to the party.
With him gone, Ivory gently fell back into her daily routine. At work, Camilla fawned over how much she had missed her and promised to work her hardest. At home, she enjoyed her silence and occasionally calls from Kael, Emma and Arian.
And at times, on occasions not to rare, she’d find herself missing Gadreel’s presence in the house, but the moment she’d catch herself having such silly thoughts, she’d busy herself with work.
Although she had given Gadreel that condition, laid down her guard and promised to give their relationship another go, she hadn’t one hundred percent accepted the idea and wanted to remain as detached as possible, after all, one never knows when hurt can know at their front door again, right?
