Chapter 34 The Loser

"Try them on!"

Nicholas stared at the two shirts that were still intact in the box. Grandpa Jerome had bought them for him.

"Grandpa, why did you buy me these shirts?" Nicholas asked. "I have a lot of shirts that I've never worn."

"Tsk! I've always bought you shirts since you were little," Grandpa Jerome said. He waved his hand. "Come on, try them on. I want to see if the color and size fit you. You're getting bigger now, so I might have gotten the wrong size."

Nicholas almost choked on the emotion in his heart. The two shirts in his hands were small things, but they meant a lot to him, because his grandfather had bought them for him.

"Okay, I'll try them on and show them off to you," Nicholas said, getting up from the sofa to go to the bedroom.

"Nathalie?" Grandpa Jerome called.

Nathalie, who had been silent and just smiled watching the two men in front of her, turned her head in surprise when she heard Grandpa Jerome's call.

"Yes, grandpa?" Nathalie replied.
