The lunch was only fun for Nicholas, Nathalie, and Mrs. Keylani.
Charles and Gina sat uncomfortably, as if there were nails in the chairs they were sitting on.
"Mr. Frederick, why didn't you just tell me that you and Nathalie are divorced?" Mrs. Keylani asked in an unamused tone. "At least that would reduce the discomfort between us."
"Yes, I'm sorry, Mrs. Keylani," Charles said embarrassedly.
Mrs. Keylani turned to look at Gina. "And you, ma'am, didn't have to be so rude to tell me. I'm sure Nathalie wouldn't think of going back to your husband. She's with a Grand!"
Gina pouted, but Charles nudged her leg under the table and Gina quickly lowered her head and apologized softly.
Mrs. Keylani ignored them after that and was only busy talking to Nicholas and Nathalie.
"I was friends with her late mother, since Nicholas and my daughter, Marilyn, were born in the same hospital and almost got mixed up," said Mrs. Keylani.
