Seven years later
Nicholas put his bag on the side of the sofa and untied his tie, walking slowly so as not to make a sound.
Nathalie did not move, lying sideways on the sofa, looking very soundly. She did not even wake up when Nicholas kissed her forehead.
Nicholas walked into the kitchen and saw Madam Olla boiling something in a pan. The aroma of spices that should have filled the air in the kitchen.
"Madam, what is that you are boiling?" Nicholas asked while pulling out the dining chair.
Madam Olla turned her head. "Oh, you're home, sir? Why didn't you make a sound, it just surprised me."
Nicholas smiled. "Nathalie is sleeping on the sofa. I didn't want to disturb her."
Madam Olla turned off the stove and quickly made coffee for Nicholas.
