Chapter 9: Predatory Smile

The chapter begins with Riya and Muramasa resting in a quiet, abandoned building on the outskirts of Sighisoara.

Muramasa uses the silence to explain to Riya the true meaning of being a Ruler-class holder — the responsibility to maintain order in the Holy Grail War, to act as a judge between the factions, and to prevent unnecessary chaos. Though Muramasa speaks solemnly, Riya listens half-heartedly, the weight of his mission from jack—Killing an innocent man—always in the back of his mind.

Meanwhile, elsewhere on the battlefield:

Achilles (Rider of Red) and Arash (Archer of Red) launch a fast, aggressive assault on the Black Faction's camp to retrieve Spartacus, who had been captured earlier.

Their plan, swift and effective, almost succeeds — but the Black Faction repel the attack. Spartacus remains in captivity, and though the two Red Servants are forced to retreat, no lives are lost on either side.

Still, the Black Faction is left uneasy.

Back to Riya:

He proposes to Muramasa that they capture a local magus from Sighisoara, under the excuse of gathering intelligence.

They stalk the streets at night, find a target—a lone magus gathering reagents—and, after a swift ambush, drag him back to their temporary base.

Through brutal but efficient methods, Riya extracts key information: the location of the Black Faction's stronghold.

But then—

Without hesitation, and to Muramasa's silent shock, Riya channels Merlin's powers.

With calm brutality, he executes the captured magus, ending the man's life in a flash of corrupted Avalon magic.

Muramasa, a man who had seen countless warriors and killers, is genuinely surprised.

While he know that riya wasn't ordinary he didn't expect the boy to kill so effortlessly.

Riya, cold and unfazed, simply tells him, "We can't afford witnesses. Dispose of the body."

Muramasa obeys without a word, but a quiet understanding passes between between his eyes: Riya Riot is something else.

Later that night—

Riya falls into a deep sleep, his mind heavy with the weight of his choices.

In the dream world, Jack the Ripper appears before him.

No longer hesitant, Jack gazes at him with a predatory smile, her mature, alluring body draped in dark mist.

She prowls toward him, whispering approvingly:

"Good boy..."

Before he can react, she pounces on him, initiating their "connection" with a raw hunger that sends Riya deeper into the tangled power of the Saint Graphs sleeping inside him.

The chapter ends with the dream dissolving into stars — and the quiet understanding that Riya has just grown even stronger.
