Scapegoats and anger

Jasmine and Keshav stood outside the dungeon, their eyes wide at the sight before them. They saw not just regular military soldiers but also some who appeared to be military players, all preparing for the potential dungeon break. Jasmine quickly took out fales and let them walk away from military before secretly putting them back in her subspace.

The surrounding area was a flurry of activity, with soldiers setting up barriers and defenses while players prepared spells and incantations.

It was clear that the military was taking this situation seriously, and that they were expecting a major outbreak. Jasmine couldn't help but feel a sense of unease at the sight of so much firepower being gathered around them.

Jasmine and Keshav stood before a group of military officials, explaining that they had cleared the dungeon gate. The military officials listened with skepticism, their faces displaying disbelief.

"You cleared the dungeon gate?" one of the officials asked incredulously. "All by yourselves?"

Keshav nodded, his expression unapologetic. "Yes, we did," he said, his tone matter-of-fact. "We have powerful skills that allowed us to clear the gate without much difficulty."

The official continued "But there are 10's of millions of zombies in that dungeon. It has been declared impossible to clear as scientific weapons like nuclear bomb don't work in dungeons"

Jasmine chimed in, her voice sarcastic. "We know there were millions of zombies, but our skills were more than enough to handle them. And your so-called 'scientific weapons' wouldn't have worked even if they had been functional within the dungeon."

The military officials looked at them with a mixture of disbelief and shock. It was clear that they couldn't wrap their heads around the idea that two players had managed to clear a dungeon gate that they had declared impossible to clear.

Jasmine and Keshav stood in tense silence as the military officials continued to grill them about their clearance of the dungeon gate. The officials still couldn't believe that they had succeeded where they had failed.

Anger began to rise within both of them as they realized that they were being used as scapegoats. It was clear that the military had no intention of giving them credit for their success, instead setting them up to take the fall when the inevitable dungeon break occurred.

Jasmine's eyes flicked to keshav, her expression hardening with anger. She couldn't believe that the military would treat them in this way, especially after all the hard work they had put in to clear the dungeon.

She could see the same anger reflected in Keshav's eyes as he too realized the military's intentions. It was a moment of shared understanding, a silent agreement that they would not let the military use them as sacrificial lambs.

Jasmine's fists clenched at her sides, her knuckles turning white with the strength of her grip. "You were going to use us as scapegoats," she said, her voice low and dangerous. "Weren't you?"

A silence fell over the group as all eyes turned to her. The officials exchanged glances, as if silently debating whether to admit to their plan. Finally, one of them spoke up.

"We had to," he said, his tone unapologetic. "We couldn't take the blame for a dungeon break. It would destroy the public's faith in the military."

Keshav's expression darkened even more as he overheard their admission. "So you were willing to sacrifice us, just to protect your own reputation?" he said, his voice dripping with disgust.

The official looked away, unable to meet Keshav's gaze. "We had to do what was necessary," he said, his voice defiant but lacking in conviction.

Jasmine could feel her anger rising to the surface, her hands clenching into fists. "Necessary?" she said, her voice growing louder. "You call using us as sacrificial lambs necessary?"

She stepped forward, her face just inches away from the official's. "We're not objects to be used and discarded at your convenience," she spat. "We're people, with lives and dreams of our own."

The official shrank back, clearly not expecting such a reaction. But Jasmine was far from done. She turned to face the other military officials, her gaze hard and unyielding.

"You all knew about this, didn't you?" she asked, her voice ringing through the air. "You all knew you were sending us in there to die, and yet you did nothing?"

The officials exchanged guilty glances, unable to meet her gaze. It was clear that they were all guilty of this heinous plan.

Jasmine's anger simmered beneath the surface, but she forced herself to stay calm. This was not the time for an outburst. She needed to keep her cool and think strategically.

She looked at Keshav, who stood beside her, his expression mirroring her anger. They exchanged a silent glance, a silent agreement passing between them.

Keshav said "So what are you people going to do now that we have cleared the dungeon saving it from dungeon break"

The officials looked at each other, clearly unsure of how to respond. They had expected Jasmine and Keshav to die in the dungeon, not succeed where they had failed. Now that the duo had proven them wrong, they were forced to confront the consequences of their plans.

Official said "Nothing. Just like other guilds, this dungeon will continue to be under your guild and you will need to clear it regularly until it disappear"

Jasmine's eyes narrowed at the official's words. "So we have to continue clearing the dungeon, after we've already proven that we can do it?" she said, her tone incredulous.

The official nodded, his expression remaining stoic. "Yes, that's correct," he said. "We didn't expect you to survive, but now that you have, you'll be expected to continue clearing the dungeon regularly."

Keshav was still feeling a bit angry at them but he knew government and military was doing whatever they can to prevent dungeon breaks.

Jasmine's expression softened slightly as she sensed Keshav's anger, and she placed a hand on his arm in a soothing gesture. "It's okay," she said, her voice soft. "They're just doing their job. We can handle it."

Than keshav and jasmine left officials to go home. As they walked away, Jasmine couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. She was glad to be out of the presence of the military officials, who had betrayed their trust and used them as pawns in their game.

Beside her, Keshav walked in silence, his expression clouded by anger and frustration. Jasmine could sense his tension, but she knew that he needed some time to cool down before they talked about what had happened.
