NSGT: Chapter 29

---

Clearly, he just thought having so many people here was fun!

Regardless of whether they were in the open or hidden, many or few, this guy truly didn't regard these people at all.

Seeing the waves beneath Hatake Kuroshi's hand churn violently for a moment, then bubble outwards before ceasing their struggle... the boiling sea surface, like dumplings being dropped, immediately quieted down.

Although they were hired hands, they understood how to assess the situation.

This eye-covered youth before them, though appearing civilian, had fierce methods and bizarre techniques.

If they truly angered this guy, they wouldn't stand a chance!

These men were all subordinates of Gato; they had been involved in this maritime racket for quite some time.

Countless civilians had died in these waters.

Wealthy individuals were stripped of their possessions before being allowed passage. As for those without money or who resisted excessively, they were directly dumped into the sea.

But there were also instances where they mistook ninjas for civilians. After suffering a few times, they had summarized their experiences.

However, Hatake Kuroshi's situation was truly the first time they had been so careless.

"Hahaha, don't be angry, little brother! See, we're putting them down, putting them down."

A burly man immediately threw down his sword, lying flat on a wooden plank with both hands raised above his head.

"I surrender, I surrender! Let me get on the boat."

A thin, trembling man beside him quickly chimed in.

Night had already fallen. Even for those who spent years roaming the waters, staying in such cold water for more than half an hour would be difficult.

"Two people should be enough, right?"

Hatake Kuroshi turned his head curiously to ask Shisui.

Shisui nodded in confirmation.

He then warily scanned the vicinity of the boat. Most of these people were vicious criminals; letting only two onboard would surely lead to further trouble.

It was just uncertain if these two boarding the boat had truly become compliant.

As soon as the two climbed aboard, they turned to call out to their companions.

However, the moment they turned, they forcibly swallowed the words in their mouths.

Hatake Kuroshi stood on the boat and lightly clenched his fist; the entire sea area froze.

Blooms of blood surged up within the seawater.

Water against water, person against person, colliding, compressing together, splashing blood directly onto the faces of the two men.

What's happening!?

These two certainly hadn't intended to truly surrender; it was just a ploy to get onboard and find an opportunity.

But this stagnant seawater and the splashing blood were situations they had never anticipated.

"Let's hurry to the Land of Water. Don't delay here too long. It feels a bit cold at night~"

Hatake Kuroshi's voice sounded behind the two. Although it was his usual tone, to them, it sounded like the whispers of a demon from hell.

"Yes, yes!"

The two didn't dare look back, rushing to the other side of the boat, hastily rowing through the sea of blood towards the Land of Water.

Shisui watched the seawater begin to churn again, a flicker of fear flashing through his heart.

This was the first time he had personally witnessed Hatake Kuroshi kill someone.

Regardless, the momentarily stagnant seawater had truly shocked him.

It wasn't Genjutsu, not a trick of the eyes. In that instant, this stretch of sea was under Hatake Kuroshi's control!

Moreover, even after using such a powerful ability, Hatake Kuroshi still looked completely relaxed.

Does this person truly have limits?!

After witnessing the sea of blood Hatake Kuroshi created, those two men became thoroughly compliant.

They desperately hoped to send these two living Buddhas away quickly.

Rushing along, they delivered the pair to the Land of Water at dawn.

"We... we can't take you any further in. It's very dangerous inside Kirigakure now. If we go further, we might not make it out alive."

The thin man tremblingly docked the boat by an inconspicuous shore.

Ahead lay a mountain range, and by the shore was a sizable reef, perfectly concealing their boat.

The sprawling mountain range and the ever-present dense fog shrouded the entire Land of Water in a mysterious shadow.

Even standing at the edge, one could clearly feel the entire country's hostility towards outsiders.

After disembarking, Hatake Kuroshi pulled out a folded piece of paper and unfolded it. Shisui leaned over curiously.

Written on it was information about Kirigakure recruiting Ninja Academy teachers.

"??... When did you get this?!"

Shisui had barely left Hatake Kuroshi's side these past few days, yet he had never seen him take out this paper before. His eyes widened in surprise.

"Secret—I have my ways of gathering intelligence too."

"Just in a different direction from yours."

Hatake Kuroshi gave Shisui a cunning smile and flipped over the recruitment paper.

Drawn on the back was a suggested map and text, showing the address and route to the Kirigakure Ninja Academy.

The two figures quickly vanished into the dense fog.

Not long after setting off, Hatake Kuroshi and Shisui realized they were being followed.

Unsurprisingly, it should be Kirigakure ANBU.

Hatake Kuroshi gazed at the continuous mountain range behind the dense fog. Kirigakure hid itself deep within these old mountains and forests.

Like immortals seeking seclusion.

Yet in a place like this, everyone's gone murderously insane.

Hatake Kuroshi shook his head, signaling Shisui. The two didn't rashly engage the ANBU behind them.

The possibility of shaking off Kirigakure ANBU here wasn't high; after all, this was their home turf.

Wandering blindly here might just lead them into trouble.

But the feeling of being followed was indeed unpleasant. Hatake Kuroshi and Shisui subtly quickened their pace.

"Without Lord Mizukage's permission, no one can enter or leave the village."

A guard with a beefy face stopped Hatake Kuroshi, who was looking at the map and walking towards the village.

Shisui paused slightly; this place truly was someone else's territory.

He had been somewhat engrossed in the route just now and hadn't noticed this person's approach at all.

"We're here to apply for the Ninja Academy teacher positions."

Hatake Kuroshi glanced up at the guard and held up the paper in his hand.

"??!!"

Several heads poked out from the mist, which thinned slightly.

The guards scattered around the entrance gathered together, simultaneously scrutinizing the paper in Hatake Kuroshi's hand and their faces.

Their expressions were uniformly like they were looking at ghosts.

"This paper actually managed to recruit teachers."

"Are these two capable? They don't look very reliable."

"Those who can't handle it will run away within a few days anyway. Let's just wait and see."

The ANBU hidden within the dense fog also looked thoughtfully at Hatake Kuroshi and Shisui's backs before silently melting back into the mist.

"Wear these armbands for now. If you can last three days, find Lord Mizukage to have them removed."

The guard took out two pieces of dark blue cloth bearing the Kirigakure symbol.

Hatake Kuroshi and Shisui exchanged a look and tied the armbands onto their arms respectively.

This armband signified that outsiders had received permission to enter the country.

In the period right after the war, Konoha had used similar armbands for identification.

A stamp was placed on the application form, and the two were permitted entry.

"Do you think those two will survive two days?"

One of the guards suddenly asked after the pair's figures disappeared from view.

"They don't even have forehead protectors. We might have to collect their bodies by the afternoon."

The guards were clearly accustomed to such scenes, shrugging and shaking their heads before returning to their posts.

By the time Hatake Kuroshi and Shisui entered the village, it was already morning.

The entire village was deathly silent. Although people lived in the surrounding buildings, the streets were completely deserted.

Nothing but fog, fog everywhere. This place looked like Silent Hill.

Obito's method of governing really isn't great.

But then again, Obito wasn't much older back then, right in his chunibyo phase. Of course, he'd grab a place and mess around relentlessly.

The closer they got to the Ninja Academy, the heavier the atmosphere became.

A pungent smell of blood even faintly permeated the fog.

"This road... leads to the Academy, right?"

Even though Shisui was a ninja, he still relied on his eyes to discern things.

This fog didn't seem right at all; it felt like they were walking towards a slaughterhouse.

"That's right. About another five hundred meters, and we should be there."

"Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!"

Just as Hatake Kuroshi finished speaking, a man with a ferocious expression ran out of the dense fog.

Screaming tragically, he sprinted past Hatake Kuroshi.

As if fleeing some terrible demon.

"Let me go! Let me go!!!!"

"I won't tell anyone what happened here! Let me go!!"

Before Hatake Kuroshi and Shisui could stop the man to ask questions... several Water Release water bullets flew out from the mist.

A few splat, splat sounds rang out, and the man's screams abruptly ceased.

Splattered blood instantly dyed the nearby fog red; the metallic scent in the air grew even stronger.

The attacker seemed completely unconcerned about Hatake Kuroshi and Shisui's presence, disappearing after the kill.

Despite having heard about Kirigakure's brutality and bloodiness, Shisui was still left dumbfounded by this murder right at the school gate.

Hatake Kuroshi rubbed his chin and said thoughtfully.
