MAFIA CITY
CHAPTER 2
+++
Murphy handled the steering wheel of a Sienna XL as he sped off on the smooth road of Oakfalls, headed for a bar downtown. Rollins' precisely.
He took an expert swerve as he smashed the throttle hard and the speedometer hit 60km/h.
A sharp light reflected through the side mirror as he saw a blue tinted Maserati he had been seeing for the past 15minutes trailing behind him. He took another bend and to his expectations, the car followed on.
He chuckled softly.
A lopsided grin resting on his lips. "Time to go naughty!"he mumbled. Suddenly, he matched hard on the brake and the car came to a halt.
He worked his hand swiftly on the gear and released his foot on the clutch. Instantly the car jerked forward and took off.
The trailing car saw this and did same. A racing contest had been initiated.
"Mamafvckers!"Murphy whistled as he drove at an insane speed.
He had earlier changed direction from downtown to the highway leading to the city outskirts.
Police sirens soon rent the air as the police got a notification of a mad driver.

.
The furious and continuous loud sirens turned the lanes to a movie as several police cars were seen springing out of different corners in chase of a mad Sienna XL driver.
The Maserati yet not relenting marched up in same mode thereby cutting out a chase for itself.
It became the police after two crazy drivers.
Murphy filled with fury, seethed continuously with a face flushed with anger.
The cops were not relenting too. There were heard cursing voices and terrified shrieks from the people as they watched the insanity displayed.
Some 'flying out of the way' on seeing an approaching speeding police car.
Murphy gave an expert swerve as he smashed the throttle hard and the car was propelled forward, headed for a dark alley. The police too followed suite.
Obviously, he was enjoying the show. As soon as he got out of the alley, he saw the Maserati speeding off. He nodded and chased after it.
He maneuvered his way through rough ways as he caught up with the Maserati.
The police cars, overwhelmed by the immense speed and expert acts of the racers, some gave up the quest yet about five more were up to the task. Murphy could clearly see the Maserati ahead as he swerved and overtook cars and trucks, lorries and buses on the highway.
It seemed as though he was being lured into a trap by the Maserati, he smirked as he slowed down.
Currently, he was almost out of town. The police cars still trailed him but they were far behind, they kept on trailing the two cars.
Howbeit, Murphy remembering his earlier mission gave up the chase as he mixed with cars of same look and went back, to the downtown way.

|ROLLINS' DOWNTOWN PUB|
|8:00PM|
.
Speeding at a reasonable velocity, Murphy sighed as he held the steering wheel tightly. The bar just few meters ahead. His head went into a fast thinking rate as he wondered why he was been trailed.
Yet not getting any thing, he let out a breath he had been harbouring as he parked at the driveway, he got down almost immediately as he hurried into the bar. He only showed the bouncers the silvery card and they let him in, who doesn't know Omar? He smiled more like grinned at them and they instantly recognised him. Their boss must have told them about him, they nodded as he was ushered in. The loud booming of sound systems hitting his ears first then the smell of cigarette. Waiters and waitresses moving about in duty.
He fixed his dark sunshade properly.
He moved through the VVIP area as he showed less concern for his environment save for his ever security conscious acts. Even at that, he saw what he wanted. Men in disguise moving from one point of darkness to another. He smirked as he only proceeded into Rollins' office.
The middle aged man who was Omar's cousin was slightly startled but on seeing Murphy remove his glass, he calmed down.
Murphy smiled at him.
"Those mamafvckers are lurking around so well,"he said.
"thanks for coming M.J,"Rollins replied.
"I guess they know not that I am here so we wait till they assassinate you,"Murphy said calmly.
"Very well but I'm scared, I've lost twelve guards this past two days and I got a message telling me that I'm gonna die tonight."
"what do they need? Who are they?"Murphy asked the two questions.
Rollins paused briefly as he gulped down saliva. "They need the entry code into Omar's warehouse, the one underground here precisely."
"...and they are from Modric Lukas A.K.A "Clipper" a Croatian political kingpin."he added.
Murphy nodded. "It will be a nice party after all."he only mumbled as he wore his sunshade back and straightened up.
"Place your head on your desk buddy. It's about getting rough."
Rollins adhered instantly as Murphy withdrew a revolver from his suit with a silencer fixed perfectly to it.
He faced the door instantly with his gun held forward, firmly and hands ready to trigger.
A hasty footstep was heard behind the door then followed by the slow opening of the door but the intruder so unfortunate was met with a bullet finding its way into his skull.
"Nice being stealth but that was rash of you buddy, not a single man has to take the glory against me."Murphy mumbled as he passed over the now cold body.
He came in contact with dead guards littered around. He knew there were more to come and obviously the dead man had single handedly killed the guards.
He looked around carefully and on looking at the door he saw a man coming in. Followed by more, about five of them.
They sighted him as he held out a gun at them. They paused. Aimed at him.
"Hey you clear your little body outta the way. Let's get this done swiftly,"one said.
.
He smirked. He chuckled softly and said, "Ever heard of Murphy?"
"Hell yeah. The mamafvcker who foiled Al Hafiz's deal with Luther Connors,"one man who seemed like the leader said boldly.
Murphy nodded softly.
"Heard of Don Omar's killing machine?"he threw at them.
"Fvck off man. Else I'm so gonna drill holes into you."the leader seethed impatiently.
"You are welcomed to try poop face,"Murphy said calmly. His grin unwavering.
"With all pleasure!"the man said as he corked his gun and fixed his finger on the trigger; he aimed at Murphy.
A gun gave a fizzy sound as a bullet was fired.
The men all waited for Murphy falling down but to their greatest shock, the leader fell down. His head oozed out blood.
The other men were terrified.
"Shit! Craig!"they all mumbled.
"Told y'all in codes but you're just as dumb as your Don."Murphy uttered. His face grim. "I am the fvcking Murphy y'all know but sadly none of you escapes here."he said. Fear seeped into their systems.
"Omar orders!"he added as he shot at them swiftly and they all fell down at once with a loud thud. Blood flowed out from their wounds.
He turned around and went into the office. He met Rollins still having his head down.
"Raise it up man. They ain't a problem anymore,"he said.
Rollins sighed in relief.
"Thanks M.J."
"I'm honored,"he replied and tucked the revolver back into his suit. He exited the place.
.
.
.
"Boss, Craig is dead. Murphy interfered,"a figure hidden under the cover of the night said into a phone.
"Omar shall pay. Time to pay him a visit, about time I win the Colombian deal,"a deep voice replied.
The call was hung.

THE NEXT DAY
.
.
SHOCKER: "Popular philanthropist Jace Veratti Edwards dead. Murdered in cold blood."—@OAKTIMES
.
That was the latest headlines for that morning. The citizens were saddened.
To them a benefactor and Goodman was gone, but to the mafia, a huge stumbling block was off the way.
'It was a time to get more mighty.' So they thought.

MURPHY'S RESIDENCE
.
A groan escaped the coffins of Murphy's lips as the morning sun rays penetrated the drapes and rested on his face. He stood up and squinted his eyes. He closed them then opened it again as he stood up and made for the bathroom.
He did the usual stuff. After few minutes, he was out. He strode over to his wardrobe and checked through his clothes.
He chose a white plain shirt over a black trouser, his combat boots then a black hoodie. He buried his gun in the belt of his trouser as he marched out.
He entered his Lamborghini then sped off.
.
.
Minutes later, after he'd grabbed breakfast at a restaurant, he arrived at the don's house. He went through the normal security scan before proceeding in.
He entered the room where the boss was as he stood gallantly. He bowed and greeted respectfully. "Morning boss."
"Nothing is good Murphy. Modric bidded for the deal twice the amount I offered and the money hungry colombians are tryna accept."
"What?"Murphy uttered in shock and awe. "He's calling for war."
"Then we give him war. If anyone thinks he's smart enough to outsmart me... He should get ready for bloodshed."Don Omar seethed. He laughed devilishly.
"Get the men prepared. We storm Croatia tonight."he ordered dismissively.
Murphy saluted. "Yes boss." He turned around to leave but..
