The cemetery.
Unusually quiet.
Only the sound of rain falling on the tombstones.
Strolling through the cemetery, Ryuya searched for Kuina's name on the tombstones.
Finally, his efforts paid off.
In a corner, Ryuya found Kuina's name.
"Such a pity. She aimed to become the world's greatest female swordsman, yet even in death, she rests on the cemetery's outskirts."
Shaking his head, Ryuya said nothing more.
He took the Soul-Returning Sword, a previous system reward, from his system space.
The Soul-Returning Sword was a broken sword, inlaid with gems, looking mysterious and beautiful.
"You, who aimed to be the world's greatest swordsman, surely don't want your life to end like this. Let me see how strong your will is,"
As Ryuya finished speaking, he plunged the Soul-Returning Sword into the ground before Kuina's tombstone.
Instantly, the entire cemetery was enveloped in a mysterious light.
In the light, Ryuya could see wandering spirits.
But in the vast cemetery, only Kuina's figure appeared on her tombstone.
The figure looked like a curled-up baby, evoking a strong desire to protect.
This young girl possessed an ambition most lacked.
"Hey, are you going to keep sleeping?"
Ryuya's voice seemed to reach Kuina's soul.
Kuina slowly opened her eyes.
Looking at Ryuya, she frowned slightly, "Who are you? Am I not already dead? Why can I hear you?"
Kuina could still recall the excruciating pain.
"Do you still want to strive to become the world's greatest swordsman?"
Sitting on her tombstone, Kuina lowered her head, her eyes filled with indescribable dimness.
"A woman can't become the world's greatest swordsman. Her body will ultimately limit her achievements. She can never be the strongest."
After saying this, Kuina's soul seemed to dim further.
She had died with immense resentment.
Now, Kuina was denying herself.
If this continued, Kuina's soul would soon dissipate.
The Soul-Returning Sword, a one-time-use item, would be completely unusable.
Most importantly, when reading the original story, Ryuya felt immense regret for Kuina.
She had worked so hard, practicing diligently every day, striving for her dream, only to die silently after falling from a ladder.
Ryuya couldn't accept this.
Ryuya took one of the Supreme-Grade Swords he had obtained from the lab from his system space.
Holding it, he raised his arm and said to Kuina, "You're also incredibly resentful, aren't you!
Who says girls are weaker than boys?
Who says girls can't succeed?
Your goal was to become the world's greatest swordsman!
Then take this sword. Let me see how you, through your efforts, reach the pinnacle! Kuina!!!"
Ryuya's voice resonated in Kuina's heart.
She looked at the Supreme-Grade Sword, understanding Ryuya's words.
He had expressed the resentment hidden deep within her heart.
Suddenly, Kuina smiled.
A bright, happy smile.
Tears streamed down her upturned lips.
Kuina looked at Ryuya, "I don't know why you're here, but as you said, I'm incredibly resentful!
Why are girls destined to be weaker than men? Even my father said so!
I refuse to accept it! I'll prove to the world that a woman can be the strongest swordsman!
Having died once, I have nothing to fear!"
Approaching Ryuya, Kuina unhesitatingly took one of the twelve Supreme-Grade Swords!
Ryuya softly said, "Remember, this is one of the twelve Supreme-Grade Swords, called—Ominous Death."
As Ryuya finished speaking, the Soul-Returning Sword, planted before Kuina's tombstone, emitted an unprecedented light.
The light enveloped Kuina.
The gems on the Soul-Returning Sword dimmed.
Kuina's figure grew brighter.
This light formed Kuina's new body, carrying her past memories and dreams, a new body to embrace a new future.
As the light faded,
Ryuya placed the prepared clothes and cloak before Kuina.
He said, "Welcome to Dawn Bird. You're a new member."
Putting on the clothes Ryuya prepared,
Kuina's face flushed crimson.
"Why didn't you tell me I'd be resurrected this way? You saw everything, right?"
Kuina took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.
But she struggled.
Ryuya reached out, gently stroking Kuina's hair hidden beneath the cloak, softly saying, "Don't be shy. I'll take care of you!"
Kuina hadn't expected Ryuya to say this.
Her delicate face, hidden beneath the cloak, flushed even more.
"Alright, let's not talk about this now. Let's…"
Before Ryuya could finish, Kuina said, "No, I'm serious. I'll remember this."
Ryuya's lips curved upwards, "I didn't expect you to have such lofty goals yet be so conservative. But I like it."
Ryuya found teasing Kuina amusing.
Kuina glared at Ryuya, then seriously looked at her sword.
Gripping it tightly, Kuina said, "I won't waste this opportunity!"
Kuina continued, "By the way, what's Dawn Bird? An organization?"
"I'll tell you later. The situation on the sea is interesting. In these turbulent times, you'll surely be one of the brightest stars!"
