A sun-like light erupted on the sea, blinding everyone. Even with their eyes closed, the intense white light was visible. The world fell silent. Ryuya remained unchanged, but Mihawk had a bleeding wound on his chest, indicating that Mihawk's slash had lost to Ryuya's.
Fortunately, both had entered a state of enlightenment—satori.
Holding Muramasa, Ryuya used Geppo to maintain his position in the air. Mihawk returned to his small boat, which survived the clash likely due to being made of Adam Wood.
One in the sky, one on the sea; one looking down, one looking up—this symbolized their future achievements. But no one knew what the future held.
Ryuya sensed something beyond the peak of Supreme-Grade Swordsman. Mihawk felt the same. Mihawk hadn't expected Ryuya's slash to be stronger. Their swordsmanship was comparable, but Ryuya's power far surpassed his.
"White Dove, you're strong!"
"You're not bad either. That was a great fight."
Ryuya sheathed Muramasa.
"Yes, it was exhilarating. I gained insights into swordsmanship." Mihawk paused, then looked up at Ryuya, "I'll temporarily yield the title of world's greatest swordsman. I'll reclaim it when we meet again."
Mihawk sheathed Yoru and sailed away.
Those who had recovered their sight understood: Ryuya defeated Mihawk in swordsmanship! They were ecstatic.
They knew Mihawk's strength from Morgans' newspaper—the world's greatest swordsman—but he was defeated by a Navy admiral. This was beyond their imagination.
Ryuya, expression unchanged, landed at Baratie. Garp finished eating and came out. "White Dove, is it done?" "Yes," Ryuya replied. Garp nodded, "Let's go to Foosha Village. I can't wait to see Luffy!"
Ryuya was curious. Would his presence change the story?
Boarding the dog-head ship, they sailed to Foosha Village. Sanji watched them leave, determined to train harder. Only strength could help him achieve his goal.
On the sea, three days passed. With two days left, they reached Foosha Village. The atmosphere was pleasant, perhaps because Garp and Shanks often visited. The island was peaceful. Only Ryuya and Garp disembarked.
As Ryuya stood in Foosha Village, the system sounded.
[Ding! Congratulations, host, on receiving the check-in reward: Devil Fruit Awakening. Do you wish to use it?]
Ryuya looked at Garp, "Use it now."
He felt his understanding of his Devil Fruit reach the awakening stage. Garp sensed a change in Ryuya, but saw nothing unusual. It felt like a hallucination.
"Ryuya, let's go to the tavern. I'll call Luffy; you'll like him."
Ryuya twitched, "You're mistaken. I only like women."
Garp scratched his head, laughing, "The tavern's ahead. Wait there; I'll get Luffy."
Garp left. Luffy lived in the mountain bandit's hideout. Ryuya didn't mind; he was here to relax. Using his Bijo Bijo no Mi, he changed his clothes to something simpler and entered the bar.
Many looked at him; he was unfamiliar. Ryuya ignored them, going to the bar and seeing Makino. "A glass of sake, and some Sea King meat, if you have it."
Makino smiled, "Sorry, we don't have Sea King meat. It's rare here."
"Just sake then."
"Okay, please wait."
The patrons whispered, "Even if they had Sea King meat, he couldn't afford it." "Yeah, look at his clothes; he's poor."
Ryuya frowned.
