Courtyard – Lunch Break
A group of students whispered around the courtyard tables, their eyes flicking between their food and the school building.
Word of the confrontation had already started to spread.
Ryuji sat under a tree, his arms crossed, head down. Kaito plopped beside him, stealing a rice ball from his tray.
"You really love making enemies," Kaito muttered with a grin.
Ryuji didn't respond. He didn't need to. The tension had only just begun.
Classroom 3-B — Afternoon
Sora entered the classroom, eyes immediately locking with Ryuji's across the room. Neither of them looked away.
Aika glanced between them, feeling the frost between the two strongest presences in the school.
No words were exchanged.
But everyone could feel it.
Something had shifted.
And Sakuragi High would never be the same again.
Courtyard – Morning
It was unusually quiet at Sakuragi High.
Conversations were hushed. Students peeked over shoulders, unsure whether to talk about what happened in the gym—or pretend it hadn't happened at all.
But Ryuji didn't care.
He leaned against the school wall near the courtyard steps, headphones in, arms crossed. Unbothered.
At least, on the surface.
Kaito walked up, a half-eaten melon bun in hand. "You're getting stares. Again."
Ryuji didn't move. "Let them."
"You really stepped on a landmine with that Kamaguchi stunt." Kaito took a bite. "And crushed his little embroidered pride under your boot."
"I don't regret it."
"Didn't think you did." Kaito grinned. "But I'm starting to think you want war."
Ryuji said nothing.

Student Council Room – Same Time
Sora Kamaguchi stood before the tall windows, back turned to the room. His fingers tapped lightly against the sill, controlled and rhythmic.
Behind him, student council members waited nervously. One of them finally spoke up.
"Should we… respond, Kamaguchi-san?"
"No," Sora said quietly.
He turned around, eyes sharp and clear.
"He wants fire. But we'll give him silence."
The others exchanged uneasy glances.
"Let the school carry the tension. Let his name be whispered. That's how we kill kings before they crown themselves."

Classroom 3-B – Afternoon
The teacher droned on about economics, but no one was paying attention.
All eyes drifted between two seats.
Ryuji. Sora.
Neither spoke. Neither looked.
But the pressure between them could've cracked the windows.
Aika scribbled in her notebook, then paused. She looked at both of them, brow furrowed.
She could feel it too. And unlike the rest, she knew what it meant.
The school was turning into a battlefield.

Rooftop – After School
Ryuji lit a cigarette, letting the smoke trail up into the fading sky.
Kaito joined him, leaning over the rail.
"You know, he's not backing down," Kaito said. "But he's not attacking either."
Ryuji exhaled. "He's waiting."
"For what?"
"For me to make a mistake."
Kaito looked at him. "And will you?"
Ryuji's eyes burned in the twilight.
"No."

Closing Scene
Back in the empty gym, Sora stood where Ryuji had crushed the handkerchief.
He stared at the faint outline on the floor. A faint smile played on his lips.
"You stepped first, Tatsugami."
He looked up at the ceiling.
"Let's see if you can finish it."
