"He's right about one thing - treating the illness is paramount."

The doctor explained that due to the missed chemotherapy sessions and the severe trauma I'd endured, if I didn't start treatment immediately, I might not survive beyond three months.

I had recently donated my savings to a children's home, and the Ashford Family had seized all of Pierce's assets.

Although I despised the idea of using such tainted money, at this point, I needed it to stay alive.

The chemotherapy process was long and excruciating, with each treatment accompanied by intense physical and emotional agony.

I tossed and turned through countless needle pricks and drug side effects, time seeming to stretch endlessly.
