Five Consecutive Strikes!

"That's Cyber End Dragon! My brother's ace monster!"

Cyber End Dragon, Level 10, LIGHT, Machine-Type, ATK: 4000.

A massive mechanical dragon with three gleaming heads, each radiating piercing electric light. Unlike the sleeker frame of a regular Cyber Dragon, this titan had a set of broad wings, giving it a balanced, overwhelming majesty.

"Only 4000 ATK?" the vampire enchantress scoffed, shrugging with a theatrical flick of her hands. "With the Lady on the field, 4000 points might as well be a breeze."

"Is that so? Hahaha... Quick-Play Spell—Limiter Removal!"

Zane flipped his card with a snap: "This Spell is exclusive to Machine monsters! All Machine monsters on my field—double their ATK!"

"Nice!" Bastion immediately jumped up. "That boosts Cyber End Dragon to 8000 ATK! Even if the vampire heiress boosts her DEF by 3000, that's only 5000 max—no way she's stopping this. She'll be destroyed in battle before she can absorb even a single LP!"

"And Cyber End Dragon has piercing damage. Defense position or not—she's still taking a hit!"

"She'll lose 6000 LP minimum. Even if she revives, she won't have the upper hand anymore!"

"Does that mean my brother and Hikaru can win now?!" Syrus asked, bouncing.

Bastion shook his head grimly. "Power like that comes with a cost. When the turn ends, Cyber End Dragon will self-destruct due to Limiter Removal."

"Battle! Cyber End Dragon, attack the Vampire Heiress!"

"I won't let you lay a finger on the Lady!" the enchantress cried, flipping her set card. "Trap Card—Waboku! This turn, my monsters can't be destroyed by battle, and all battle damage becomes zero!"

She shot forward in a blur, cloaked in eerie black light, throwing herself in front of the heiress, arms raised. Cyber End Dragon's blazing laser crashed down on her—but the barrier held.

"!!"

"Ngh—!" Syrus winced, clutching his head.

"It's over… Zane's monster will be destroyed now…"

"Even Cyber End Dragon couldn't break through? Just how strong is that vampire heiress?!"

"Looks like it's our turn next, Chazz…" Jaden sighed, ready to step up.

"No," Jaden stood firm, eyes locked on the stage. "No—Kaiser and Hikaru haven't given up yet!"

"Even if they haven't, look at the field—"

"Heh… hehehe…" Zane chuckled quietly. Not frustrated at all. In fact, everything was going exactly how he wanted.

"I set a card. End turn."

"Then your monster's destroyed now!" the enchantress called out gleefully.

"Doesn't matter. Its destruction now… is only for its rebirth later." Zane was utterly calm.

"Aaaahhhh! My brother's field is empty now!!" Syrus screamed.

"…My turn." The vampire heiress drew a card.

Her brows knit. Something felt… off.

"Flip Summon Vampire Enchantress." She fluttered to the heiress's side with a twirl.

"Then, once per turn, Skull Servant's effect—send a Zombie from my Deck to the GY. I send Vampire Grace. Then, I activate Spell Card—Book of Life – Forbidden Spell! I banish your Cyber End Dragon from your GY—and Special Summon Vampire Grace!"

She went with her gut instinct.

Vampire Grace, Level 6, DARK, Zombie-Type, ATK: 2000.

"Grace's effect—once per turn, declare a card type. Your opponent sends one of that type from their Deck to the GY...

Spells."

"Fusion," Zane replied without pause, selecting and discarding a Spell.

"Huh? Why not send a monster this time?" Bastion mumbled.

"Vampire Kingdom activates!" the heiress lifted her hand. Red mist spread across the field like blood-drenched fog. Her wine-red eyes gleamed with supernatural glow.

"Then I activate the Trap—Threatening Roar!" Zane flipped his set card. "This turn, you can't declare attacks!"

"Then I send Vampire Baby from the Deck to the GY—and destroy your last set card."

A red moonbeam struck down. The card shattered.

Another Fusion.

"A Monster Reborn, a Fusion… Kaiser's playing this like a pro—laying the groundwork for his teammate," Bastion nodded. "But still… with Vampire Kingdom, Domain, and the heiress on the field, it's a nightmare combo."

"Hah! You're finished now!" Camula cackled, her tongue hanging in glee. "Let's see how you win now! My pain from that punch earlier is long gone!"

But the vampire heiress seemed… irritated.

She realized something—she'd been played.

She just didn't know how yet.

She glanced at the enchantress grinning smugly. A silent sigh.

Maybe… choosing a tag duel wasn't such a smart call after all.

"End turn."

"This is it. Their last shot." Bastion swallowed.

Everyone could feel it.

If they didn't turn it around now—Hikaru and Zane were done.

"There's five Zombies on their field." Alexis, normally fearless, couldn't hide her tension. And these weren't just monsters—they were real vampires.

"You should surrender now, sweethearts~" Camula purred, all elegance and arrogance.

"Would surrender only count as half a loss?" Syrus asked, actually considering it.

"SYRUS!" Jaden yelled, furious.

"Syrus…" Zane sighed. "Just watch. Watch closely—this is our duel, mine and Hikaru's."

"?!"

"This turn decides everything—Hikaru, it's on you. Just like we planned from the start."

"Yeah… leave it to me!"

Hikaru Amagi drew.

Zane Truesdale—perfect in every role. As an upperclassman, he guided underclassmen like Jaden. As a friend, he searched all year for Atticus. As a student, he fulfilled every duty. As a duelist—he was Duel Academy's strongest. And through it all, he stayed humble.

But…

He had a little brother.

Zane Truesdale's one flaw—Syrus.

Hikaru glanced at his hand and revealed the card: "I activate Spell Card—Fusion Deployment! I reveal Labyrinth Tank from my Extra Deck—and Special Summon Cannon Soldier from the Deck!"

"Then activate Cannon Soldier's effect—tribute itself to inflict 500 damage!"

The heiress blocked the shot with a raised arm, unfazed.

Vampire Team LP: 6750 → 6250.

"That's barely a scratch. What's the point of that?" Camula sneered.

"Heh…" Zane chuckled. "As a duelist, you've still got a lot to learn."

"Wh-What?" Camula flinched.

"Wait—don't tell me!" Jaden's eyes lit up. "You've been setting this up since Turn Two!"

Zane nodded.

From the moment Ancient Gear Golem went to the GY—he saw it coming. He built the stage for Hikaru.

Hikaru wouldn't make random plays. He even set Cyber Revolution—a Cyber Dragon-exclusive trap.

"Exactly!" Hikaru revealed his hand. "I activate Spell—Overload Fusion!"

"Overload Fusion!?"

"That's the Fusion Spell for DARK and Machine monsters. I banish materials from the field and GY!

I banish Proto-Cyber Dragon, Cyber Dragon Vier, Cyber Dragon, Ancient Gear Golem, and Cannon Soldier!

Let's end this!

Fusion Summon—Chimeratech Overdragon!"

Scraps of metal soared from the GY, merging midair into a monstrosity with seven—no, eight heads. A massive war-beast of steel and thunder.

Chimeratech Overdragon, Level 9, DARK, Machine-Type, ATK: ?

"When Chimeratech Overdragon is Fusion Summoned, I send all other cards on my field to the GY." Brilliant Fusion hit the grave.

"I used five materials. Its ATK becomes number of materials × 800!"

Chimeratech Overdragon, ATK: 4000.

"Same as Cyber End Dragon!"

"Battle! Chimeratech Overdragon, attack the Vampire Heiress!"

"W-What?!" the students gasped.

"Even if it's 4000 ATK—it can't beat her DEF!" Syrus panicked.

"My effect—pay 3000 LP!"

Vampire Team LP: 6250 → 3250.Vampire Heiress DEF: 2000 → 5000.

The metal firestorm hit her—and she flicked it away with a wave of her cape.

ATK < DEF. Hikaru took the damage.

Student Team LP: 5550 → 4550.Vampire Team LP: 3250 → 4250.

"This… this isn't working!"

"Heh—Chimeratech Overdragon can attack monsters a number of times equal to the number of Fusion Materials used!"

Blood leaking down his lip, Hikaru pointed. "Attack again!"

"...Pay another 3000 LP."

"What's the point!?" Syrus wailed.

"No—Syrus, they've already won!" Jaden shouted, eyes alight.

"What!?" Syrus blinked.

Bastion explained, excited: "To protect herself, the vampire heiress pays 3000 LP, then regains 1000 by effect. That's a 2000 LP loss every time! They only had 6250 LP! Hikaru and Zane still have 4550—they can survive five attacks!

Even if she saves 1000 LP per time, she can only use that effect three times before dropping to 250 LP. After that—!

Come to think of it, she banished Cyber End Dragon early… maybe she already saw this coming?"

Bastion shook his head. "If they'd sacrificed the heiress earlier, maybe they'd get one more turn… but I guess that's not their style."

The heiress understood. And instead of regret—her face softened, almost satisfied.

"So this is a duel. I underestimated you."

"Triple attack! Hit the Vampire Heiress!"

"Pay 2100 LP!" She couldn't shrug it off now—she barely held against the blast. But her pride kept her standing.

"Quadruple attack!"

This time, she couldn't block it. She was thrown backward—landing hard on the castle's upper duelist platform.

"Fifth attack!!"

"The final strike—Chimeratech Overdragon, attack Vampire Enchantress!! End it!!"

The enchantress leapt to shield the heiress, tanking the blow.

In a blaze of metal and flame, both images flickered—leaving only their fading silhouettes behind.
