Chapter 17 : Aurelia's Jealousy
Aurelia lay against Grim's broad chest, her body exhausted from their earlier intimacy.
His well-developed muscles provided a firm yet strangely comforting surface, lulling her into a state of drowsiness.
Her arms wrapped around him, her face buried against his neck, breathing in his intoxicating scent. Sleep was just beginning to claim her when his deep, husky voice broke through her fading consciousness.
"Shall we continue what we were doing?" Grim whispered into her ear, his words low and teasing.
Aurelia's eyes snapped open, her cheeks flushing with heat. She lifted her head to meet his gaze, his dark eyes gleaming with amusement at her shocked reaction.
"No... not here. In my home, or yours." She replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
Grim's lips curved into a wicked smirk. "Alright then. But you'd better be prepared because next time, I'm not stopping until I'm satisfied."
Aurelia swallowed nervously but nodded slightly, her heart pounding at the intensity of his gaze. The playful teasing in his words couldn't fully mask the hunger lurking beneath.
She rested her head against him once more, trying to calm her frantic heartbeat.
Suddenly, Grim's phone rang, cutting through the silence. Grim reached out lazily, his arm stretching over the side of the sofa to grab the phone.
He glanced at the screen and his expression immediately shifted to one of disinterest.
He passed the phone to Aurelia, his voice indifferent. "Tell her I'm not coming today."
Aurelia frowned, confused. Her gaze dropped to the phone, where the name 'Lyra' was displayed on the screen.
The name was clearly feminine, and something about that made her feel a twinge of irritation. Who was this girl calling him so late at night? Did he have another woman on the side?
The thought made her blood boil, but she pushed it aside. He was hers now. And if this woman didn't get the message, she would make sure she did.
Aurelia picked up the phone and pressed it to her ear, her voice sharp. "He's not coming today."
There was a moment of silence from the other end before a hesitant, confused voice responded. "Who are you?"
Aurelia's eyes narrowed. "I'm Grim's girlfriend. But who are you to call him so late at night?"
Another pause, but this time it felt more like disbelief. Then the girl's voice came back, softer and still sounding utterly puzzled. "Brother... has a girlfriend?"
Aurelia's breath caught. Brother? The irritation on her face melted into stunned confusion.
She looked at Grim for answers, but the smug expression on his face told her everything. He had been enjoying her jealousy all along.
Lyra's voice returned, this time laced with awkwardness. "Sorry to disturb you." The call ended abruptly, leaving Aurelia staring at the phone, mortified.
The embarrassment came rushing in like a tidal wave. She had just told Grim's sister — his sister! — that she was his girlfriend. And all because of her stupid jealousy.
Before she could say anything, Grim reached over, his fingers tangling in her hair and his hand resting against the back of her head. He drew her closer, his smirk more evident than ever.
"What a jealous girl you are," Grim remarked, his tone laced with amusement.
Aurelia's cheeks burned, her anger and embarrassment mixing into a flustered mess. But something in Grim's gaze held her there, a twisted sort of affection wrapped in his taunting words.
He enjoyed watching her unravel. And despite everything, Aurelia couldn't deny that part of her enjoyed it, too.
Aurelia was resting against Grim, her cheeks still flushed with embarrassment from her earlier jealousy.
She was about to say something when a sudden knock on the door shattered the moment.
Grim's expression darkened, his gaze flicking towards the door with obvious irritation.
"Coming in," he called out, his voice laced with annoyance.
Aurelia stiffened, panic surging through her veins. Someone was here. Someone who would see her like this, resting against another man's chest.
Her face turned scarlet at the mere thought. Without thinking, she twisted away from Grim, turned her head to the opposite side, and quickly pulled the blanket over herself, pretending to be asleep. Her heart raced, her breathing shallow as she tried to appear calm.
The door creaked open, and Kade stepped into the room. His sharp eyes took in the scene before him, his confusion evident.
Grim, the man known for his ruthless demeanor and complete disinterest in women, was lounging comfortably on the couch with a woman resting against him.
Kade's eyes widened as he approached, disbelief etched into his face. "Wow... What's happening? You're not the type to be close to women. Hell, this is the first time I've ever seen you touching a woman, let alone... whatever this is."
Without realizing that Aurelia was awake and listening, Kade continued speaking. "Why did you do this? You're not the type to allow women to get close to you. And yet, here you are, being all... cozy."
Aurelia, hidden under the blanket, couldn't help but feel her heart lighten at those words. 'So, there are no women near Grim? He doesn't allow them close to him? Then... last night was his first time being this way with anyone?' She didn't know why, but the thought made her strangely happy.
Her thoughts were interrupted when Grim cut off Kade's words coldly.
"I don't owe you an explanation. Just tell me why you're here and get lost. And don't forget your boundaries." Grim's voice was sharp, his eyes narrowed with irritation.
Kade raised his hands in mock surrender. "Okay, okay, don't get angry, Boss. Here's the key to that apartment." He held out a small card and a set of keys. "I already paid and bought that property under your mother's name, just like you always instruct me. Whatever you buy, you want it in her name, right? So, I followed through. Why don't you go check it out today? The room number is on the card and the keys as well."
Grim took the keys and card without another word. His expression remained cold and distant.
"Now, get out. And bring my car outside the gym. I'll be there after some time. Go and bring my car. Now."
Kade hesitated for a moment, his eyes flicking toward the blanket-covered figure on the couch before he shrugged and turned to leave. "Alright, Boss. I'll be waiting downstairs." And with that, he left the room, closing the door behind him.
Silence settled in the room once more.
Aurelia slowly emerged from under the blanket, her golden eyes locking onto Grim's dark ones. A wave of relief washed over her, realizing that Grim didn't have any other woman in his life. She had been mad earlier, thinking he was going to run off to another girl after spending the night with her.
Without thinking, Aurelia lunged forward and kissed him. Her lips pressed firmly against his, her tongue pushing into his mouth with unexpected hunger.
Her body pressed against him, and Grim responded just as fiercely, his arms wrapping around her as their passion reignited.
But just as they were about to lose themselves in the heat of the moment, another phone rang, interrupting their embrace.
Aurelia groaned in frustration, her forehead resting against Grim's as she tried to catch her breath. But the ringing persisted, and with a scowl, she pulled away, reaching for her phone resting on the table beside the couch.
She glanced at the screen. It was her sister, Seraphine.
Still sitting above Grim, her body almost straddling him, Aurelia answered the call. "Hello?"
