Chapter 15: Threads of Heaven

[Celestial Realm — The Council of Wardens]

The Celestial Platform shook.

Stormy clouds curled above the divine realm, glowing with golden lightning. Runes along the marble pillars shimmered erratically, as if reacting to the unrest.

In the center of the platform, Meiyue, Warden of Mercy, stood tall. Her white robes fluttered unnaturally in the still air, her voice slicing through the silence like tempered glass.

“You interfered.”

Across from her, Shenglie, Warden of Wrath, said nothing. His arms were crossed, face cold, but the fire in his eyes betrayed him.

“You attacked him,” Meiyue said again, louder now. “That wasn’t karmic punishment. That wasn’t the curse.”

“It was a warning,” Shenglie replied, calm and sharp. “He dared to find peace. To feel love. He forgets the life he ended.”

“That pain nearly broke him.” Meiyue stepped forward, and the divine runes under her feet lit with every word. “You twisted fate to cause it.”

“He deserved it.”
