Chapter 18: First present

"These are good quality runes," the clerk at the guild house shop said, and Felix dared to smile. "How long have you been making them?"

"I got my license last month," Felix said, not wanting to admit toeing the law before that. The clerk regarded him coolly and then sighed.

"Right, you are one of those. Well, I say that the whole license thing is a big puddle of dung. It stopped good experts from plying their trade. So, I will buy the dimensional runes from you, for 1,000 gold coins. That should be able to pay for the fact, that you must have stayed up late at night to make them."

"You will buy them for 10,000 gold coins, or we are going to the Emporium," Edward snapped, and Patrick and Antonine nodded along. They were still trainees, but already a party. An official one, at that.
