As soon as Victor pulled into the Thompson's mansion, I walked out of the car and rushed into the house avoiding Mrs. Thompson who had stepped out with Leslie beside her.

Walking down the sitting room up the stairs that will take me to the maid's quarter. Maria was going through the ingredients for dinner, I tiptoed down the stairs as I clutched my bag tightly in my hands afraid of Maria seeing me.

“Valerie! Come here for a second'' Maria called out to me from the kitchen causing me to grumble under my breath. I reluctantly stepped down and slowly walked to meet her…

“What's that in your hands?” Maria asked me pointing to the package containing the phone Victor bought for me.
