Jessica stumbled into the passage, just by the dorm’s doorway as she brushed shoulders with an absent-minded student who was engrossed with talking to her friend, as they walked out of the dorm.
“Oh, sorry,” the girl said, and continued gossipping with her friend. They were apparently in their second year and were catching up on their holiday adventures.
Jessica sighed, rolling her luggage behind her with her right hand, room assignment sheet on her left hand, and she looked from it to the top of the doors, then back to the paper again.
“Laundry room”, “Common room”, were the labels on the first two doors she walked by.
She peeked into the common room and saw a pool table and a 45-inch smart television, both entertaining students who gathered about, chatting loudly.
“wow…,” she thought, “a pool table in the girls' dorm?”
