Back to class, back to chaos

Episode 35 – "Back to Class, Back to Chaos"

The sun shone over Shadowbound High for the first time in what felt like centuries.

The war was over.

Kael, reborn in an explosion of ancient lightning and rage, had returned. The darkness had been pushed back, sealed once more behind sacred ruins, lost scrolls, and whispered spells only the gods remembered. And now… things were normal. Well, almost.

Scene: The Hallways of Shadowbound High

Tunde sprinted down the hall like a lunatic.

"Move out the way! I'm late for History! And for the record—if anyone asks, I fought a vampire lizard in the toilet this morning!"

Felix peeked out of his locker (yes, out—he had enchanted it to be a mini base), holding a book titled "Demonic Contracts and How to Regret Them."

"Bro, no one's buying that story. Also, vampires don't lay eggs."

"They do if you annoy the wrong demon!" Tunde shot back dramatically.

Scene: The Cafeteria

Kael sat at the corner table, hoodie up, sipping a ridiculously large cup of coffee. He looked human again. No glowing tattoos, no lightning eyes. Just... him. Well, minus the ancient power coiling in his veins like a sleeping beast.

Lana sat across from him, poking her salad with her fork like it had personally offended her.

"Can't believe we're back here," she said quietly.

Kael nodded. "I know. One week ago, I was dead. Now I'm worried about passing math."

Rhea dropped her tray with a clatter. "Welcome back to hell, kids! Who missed algebra?"

Everyone groaned.

Tunde appeared with a lunch tray stacked with only desserts. "I missed the ice cream."

Felix joined them, muttering incantations under his breath as he poured chocolate milk into his tea. It sparkled. "I've been working on a spell to make cafeteria food taste less like dog."

"It's giving… magical diarrhea," Rhea said, sniffing his concoction.

"Thank you. That was the goal."

Scene: Shadowbound Gym Class

Coach Griggs, the werewolf-human hybrid, blew his whistle. "Alright, freaks! Just because y'all saved the world doesn't mean you get out of dodgeball!"

Kael, still in his hoodie, barely dodged a ball aimed by Rhea. She grinned.

"Still got it."

Tunde caught a ball using telekinesis. "I'm training my reflexes in case we get attacked again."

"From what? Another cafeteria pudding demon?" Lana teased, finally smiling.

Tunde bowed dramatically. "You laugh now. But when your pudding starts chanting Latin, don't come crying to me."

---

Scene: That Evening – Dorm Common Room

Lana was on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, sketching in her notebook. Kael sat beside her, pretending to read a book. In truth, he was watching her smile whenever her pencil danced across the page.

"Whatcha drawing?" he asked.

She tilted the sketchbook. It was a messy sketch of all of them. Kael, Rhea, Tunde, Felix, and her. All laughing, alive, chaotic.

"Us," she said. "Finally... just us."

Kael smiled softly. "I missed this."

From the other room, Felix shouted, "TUNDE! You can't microwave a crystal ball!"

A small explosion rocked the dorm.

"I REGRET NOTHING!" Tunde yelled.

Kael laughed, leaning back on the couch. For the first time in ages, there was peace in the chaos.

Scene: Final Moments of the Episode

As the team gathered around the dorm's fireplace, sipping enchanted hot chocolate, Felix pulled out an old scroll.

"Hey," he said, "just in case the peace doesn't last forever… I found something. A map. Ancient. Hidden. Sealed in lightning."

Kael narrowed his eyes. "Felix, we just finished a battle."

"Yeah," Felix said with a grin. "But where's the fun in being normal forever?"

Lana groaned. "Felix…"

Tunde stood up and struck a hero pose. "Don't worry, world! We'll save you again—after I finish this cinnamon roll."

Everyone laughed.

The flames flickered.

The peace had come—but the adventures? Oh, they were far from over.
