Synopsis

When Julia Harrow arrives at Blackwood Hall after the sudden death of her cousin, she expects mourning, a will, and polite condolences. But from the moment she steps through the iron gates, nothing feels right. The house is too quiet. The air too thick. And the man who now owns it—Alistair Blackwood—is as devastating as he is unreadable.

Secrets pulse behind every locked door. Shadows move when no one is near. And the scent of her cousin still lingers in the halls, clinging like a warning.

Drawn into a world of velvet lies and dangerous charm, Julia begins to lose time, lose trust, lose herself. Dreams bleed into reality. Passion turns to poison. And as desire tangles with dread, one question haunts her every breath:

Did she come here by choice… or was she summoned?

The Portrait of Lady Marian is a lush, slow-burning descent into madness, obsession, and a love story that should never have happened. Sinister, sensual, and dripping in dread, this is not a tale you read—

it’s one you survive.

Well written if you like suspense and thriller type things. The atmosphere building is worth learning from. Although not completely mature, it is improving with each new chapter. The plot is suitably intriguing. The story reeks of quite a few classic English literature books, which has been a source of amusement for me to see how many shadows of other books I can find in here. Yet the story is still entirely its own. I look forward to reading more. An awesome writer and story in the making. Definitely recommend (but only if you like suspense and slightly scary psychological things).
