THE PROFOUNDLY DISTURBING DREAM

As I walked, I noticed some individuals laughing, resembling high school students. I felt as though I had transported back to the year 1990, with their attire and curly, long hair. However, the surroundings were unfamiliar, and the laughter persisted.

In an attempt to shield myself from the sound, I covered my ears and closed my eyes. As I did so, I perceived a darker space with a faint light. Seconds later, the darkness intensified, and I remained in a state of complete obscurity, yet I failed to hear the laughter.

Upon reopening my eyes, I was shocked to discover that it was already night. However, my attention was drawn to the students who were now facing away from me. They exhibited a twitchy demeanor, reminiscent of zombies. As I approached one of them, a girl, I extended my finger to check on her well-being.

"H-Hey, are you okay?" I inquired, gently tapping her back. She ceased her twitching immediately.

As I continued to observe her, I noticed the remaining students standing behind me, their eyes glinting with an unsettling smile. Their pale skin was a stark contrast to the darkness surrounding them. I remained oblivious to their presence until the girl stood in front of me. A boy stood beside her, his gaze fixed on me. He emitted a chilling smile, and as I drew closer, I heard a series of cracking sounds. His neck slowly detached from his body, and his head plummeted to the ground. Blood seeped and splattered, staining the floor with his blood-stained head. Despite the gruesome scene unfolding before me, he maintained his unsettling smile.

"Be… one… of… us…," he uttered, his disembodied head lying on the floor. His voice was strained as he struggled to speak, yet his traumatized smile remained etched on his face, stained with blood from some of his teeth. As I experienced a profound sense of fear, I found myself trembling and slowly making my way back. Words failed me as I struggled to articulate my emotions. The sheer terror I felt was palpable, especially when I gazed upon the individual's head, which was now detached.

Finally, I found the strength to scream.

"AAAAAHHHHH!!" I screamed into the empty room, terrified. Suddenly, I stepped back as I screamed, and I was hit behind me. I froze, shivering, as I turned around. To my horror, all the students were smiling at me. I screamed again, covering my mouth, but I couldn't see who it was.

Then, I heard a breath in my ear.

"Be… one… of… Us… Hehehe"

In the end, she was laughing hysterically. As I looked at her, I noticed that she had no eyes. Her bloodied and broken teeth were covered in broken glasses. I tried to scream and show her a bloody scissor in her hand.

"You got… beautiful eyes… I want them for me…"

She raised her scissors, and I tried to escape. I screamed again, but she covered my mouth, and everyone in the room stared at me, still smiling eerily. Suddenly, she hit her scissors on my eyes, stabbing them and screaming to death.

"AAAAAAHHHHH!" I screamed as I woke up from my bed, drenched in sweat. I shivered, still terrified.

"Jesus Christ… thank god it was a dream…"

I lay down my head in bed, trying to relax. It had been a while since I had a bad dream. The last time I had one was in middle school when they released a horror thriller movie that Fuuto had invited me to watch. That night, I couldn't even go to sleep. Later, I did, and I had that bad dream. It was just me running away from that thriller killer, just like in the movie. But this dream was much scarier. It felt as if it was real.

I hadn't watched a horror movie or anything besides that old man's creepy smile face with his white eyes. I honestly just wanted to forget about what happened in that place with that man, and I also wanted to forget those visions I saw.

"What a pain," I thought to myself. Upon turning to my right, I noticed that the time on the clock had already read 7:50 AM.

"Damn it , Im gonna be late for school," I exclaimed, swiftly rising to prepare for my departure.

During school hours, there were only five minutes before the bell rang. Ayu was concerned because the last time she texted Daisuke was that Saturday night, informing him that he was home but did not respond to her messages on Sunday. Ayu immediately approached Fuuto's seat to inquire about Daisuke.

"Hello Fuuto," Ayu said.

"Hello Ayu, what's up?" Fuuto smiled at her.

"I don't want to cause any worry, but have you talked to Daisuke yesterday?" Ayu asked, visibly concerned.

"Mmm, no at all. I did plan to, but I was busy with my family's upcoming event, which they will be attending at their house."

"Well,-" Ayu was about to explain to Fuuto what had happened on Saturday night, but she was interrupted by the bell ringing, signaling the start of class. As everyone took their seats, the teacher entered the class.

"Well, I'll explain to you later at lunch," Fuuto said with a smile and a thumbs-up.

As the teacher began the lesson, Ayu thought to herself that he might not come to school today, which heightened her worry. Time passed, and the class progressed as the teacher imparted knowledge.

Twenty minutes had elapsed, and I was rushing to class. Upon arriving, I quickly opened the door and took a deep breath, feeling a sense of relief.

"Mrs. Ito, can you explain why you are late at this time of school?" Ms. Hanako asked me with a visibly upset expression.

"I apologize, Ms. Hanako. I woke up late," I explained, but she interrupted me.

"It doesn't matter. Just don't be late next time, young man."

"Yes, Ms. Hanako," I said, feeling embarrassed about my tardiness. I had never been late to school before, but this was my first instance. As I made my way to take a seat, Ayu noticed my presence and smiled, despite Fuuto's usual goofy grin.

"I knew he would come to school," Fuuto said with a mischievous glint in his eye.
