"Big sister, what do we do now?"
Sir Enzo's voice trembled, a chill rising inexplicably in his chest.
The enemy's poison was far too terrifying—his family's antidotes weren't working at all!
"Go get Uncle Johann," Phyllis sighed.
Sir Enzo's expression shifted slightly. He opened his mouth, wanting to say that actually, he also knew an apothecary named Harlan.
Master Johann was undoubtedly the top-tier apothecary in Aspiration City, but his prices were just as legendary.
If Harlan could cure Luxray's poisoning, given their relationship, he probably wouldn't charge too much.
"What are you waiting for? Go now!" Phyllis's voice rose.
After a moment of internal struggle, Sir Enzo nodded. Luxray's condition was too urgent—he had no time to hesitate. He needed to bring Master Johann.
He strode out quickly. Dressed in his signature purple robes, Sir Enzo called for a servant to prepare a beast-drawn carriage.
Soon, an Armored Rhyhorn pulled up, drawing a carriage that came to a steady halt at the entrance.
"Rhyhorn, we're going to Uncle Johann's!"
The Rhyhorn gave a slow nod, then trotted across the street.
Older apothecaries always seemed to have odd quirks—like preferring the quiet countryside.
Sir Enzo sat inside the carriage, anxiously watching the scenery outside.
Master Johann lived in a village outside of Aspiration City. Even with the Rhyhorn carriage, it took about thirty minutes one way—an hour round trip.
As he thought of this, his mind involuntarily drifted to the young man on the farm.
If he really wanted to cure Luxray's poisoning, that man was probably the best option. But going to him would risk exposing himself—and the man definitely wouldn't help.
"Damn it..." Sir Enzo cursed inwardly, feeling incredibly unlucky.
All he wanted was to cure his father's chronic illness. Why did it have to be so hard?
Now that his father had been sick for so long, their family's standing had become precarious. They'd even lost their seat in the council chamber.
The Armored Rhyhorn, with its excellent stamina, pressed on without pause and quickly reached Master Johann's home.
"The antidote I gave your family didn't work?"
Inside the house, Master Johann frowned slightly after hearing Sir Enzo's explanation.
Sir Enzo immediately repeated the situation in more detail.
"Yes, the potion suppresses the poisoning, but it doesn't cure it."
After speaking, Sir Enzo tactfully handed over a pouch of money.
The old master weighed it, then nodded. "Alright, I understand. Let me gather my things—I'll go with you to the viscount's estate."
As Master Johann went to prepare in the back room, Sir Enzo finally let out a breath of relief—though his heart still ached from the price.
"Bloodsucking old vampire," he muttered under his breath.
The Rhyhorn carriage sped back down the cobbled road—another thirty-minute journey.
Without any delays, Master Johann was brought to Sir Enzo's room, where he saw Luxray still lying on the floor.
Luxray's body was covered in purple blotches—one glance was enough to confirm he was still poisoned.
Sir Enzo was immediately alarmed. Those blotches had clearly faded earlier from the antidote—why were they back so quickly?
"Definitely still poisoned…"
Master Johann frowned deeply and gave Luxray another dose of antidote.
The purple spots faded slightly—but only slightly. They didn't disappear completely.
Seeing this, Master Johann's pupils contracted. He took out a small blade and made a cut on Luxray's skin. Black blood immediately oozed out.
When a drop of that black blood hit the floor, it sizzled with a burning sound, making everyone in the room gasp.
'What kind of poison is this? It's terrifying…'
The nearby servants didn't even dare to breathe, instinctively shrinking back in fear of touching the poison.
Staring at the venomous blood, Master Johann's gaze turned grave.
He took a sample and poured antidote onto it, carefully observing the reaction.
After a few moments, he suddenly shook his head and muttered to himself,
"What kind of poison is this? It's far too dangerous…"
"It contains multiple toxins of different natures, yet they've somehow perfectly fused together. I can't even tell what kind of magical beast it came from!"
The moment Master Johann said this, the faces of everyone in the room changed—especially Sir Enzo, who seemed to realize something.
Magical beast poison...
Sir Enzo couldn't help but picture the figure of Petilil.
But could a creature like that really produce such terrifying venom?
"Sir Enzo, what kind of magical beast did this poison come from?"
Master Johann turned and stared at him.
Sir Enzo hesitated, visibly conflicted. After a long pause, he finally said in a low voice,
"The creature… it looked like… like a Petilil."
As soon as he said it, his gaze swept across the room—and just as expected, everyone looked confused.
Alright, maybe it wasn't a Petilil. Maybe it was too dark that night and he misidentified it…
Sir Enzo even started to doubt himself now.
Trying to explain things to himself, he awkwardly told the others how he went out to look for a Petilil.
Of course, he didn't mention trying to steal one. He just said he encountered a beast in the wild that looked very similar.
"A monster beast that resembles a Petilil? Could it have been a Roserade?"
Master Johann offered a guess.
"Uncle Johann, is there a way to cure Luxray?"
Phyllis, in her elegant purple dress, asked calmly.
Instead of answering directly, Master Johann said only:
"We won't know until we try."
Though not a definite answer, Phyllis's heart sank slightly. What kind of poison is this…?
She brushed back a strand of purple hair and quietly moved to the door.
There, she whispered a few instructions to the waiting servant, who immediately ran off in a hurry.
Inside the room, Master Johann's expression remained grave.
He continuously took out various materials and worked on mixing potions, adjusting his formulas to combat the poison.
But no matter what he tried, he still couldn't fully neutralize the toxins in Luxray's body.
