Instant Battle?

Hearing the annoyed tone of Nux, Arthur gave his best sheepish smile he could and added, 'I forgot'.

[....]

With that, he stood up to attract attention, only to be ignored. Maybe it was because of poor eyesight or his 'handsome' features no one knows but, here it was! An opportunity!

And Arthur wasn't going to miss out on this, with grin his face which can bring dead back to life, only to bitch slap him and mutter gross before finally going back to slumber, he took a step forward and made a large *crunch* sound, which sounded less like leaves and more like Oh I am fucked kind as all the corrupted looked at him, or as much they can, and let out a guttural growl and started walking towards him, well, except for fashion one, that one just straight out sprinted towards him.

But this solved one one the questions he had, corrupted ones have bad eyesight but good hearing, and running speed at least faster than average runner, yeah, runner.

With no time to analyze more, Arthur griped his sword with both hands, took Baseball batsmen position, and swung the sword horizontally, hard. And just like that his first kill has been achieved. Rather than basking in the moment, he made quick work of the remaining ones.

'That was too easy.'

[That was because of your stats and weapon. Again, you do not have time to dilly dally, make it quick.]

Arthur didn't need to be told twice, he sheathed his sword and started rummaging to find his spoils of the day...or technically, night. And just like his luck, he didn't find anything useful. After dressing himself and strapping his sword to his waist he started moving again.

On the way he found many edible food or specifically, two types of berries. Thanks to his talent "Cook", he managed to distinguish poisonous ones and still collected them, who knows when poison may come in handy and stored all of them in his leather sack. On the way he discovered the function of this particular sack, he can stack upto 20 similar kind of items into one slot, but when he put his sword and vest, it turned out they took one slot each.

"It looks more and more like a game than having OP cheat inventory despite having a system." Arthur muttered to himself. Having a system inventory would be game changer in this kind of world.

[You have an inventory and the best kind too with infinite storage and you still want more?]

"What's the point if I can't put the things in it." He shot back. This bickering back and forth was both annoying and satisfying for Arthur, at least there was someone, or something to talk to in this dark, grim world. Fortunately, time passed and surrounding started to get brighten. But he still couldn't find any safe place to deploy hi stone room without making it obvious.

He simply found relatively safe place to take rest and fill his belly. This constant being on guard took a toll on his mind. Thanks to his previous profession this wasn't his first rodeo, still he wondered how do other survivors were doing if even he is this tired. There might also be people like him who got a head start in this forsaken world. He wished to find someone who chose information than system. How many have survived the first night? Did they also had the same spawn point as him or much better?

Just as the was lost in thought, something caught his attention that made him angry in a few seconds.
