Vacationing Out of Town

Xiao Zhen walked towards his house with an annoyed expression. His eyes stared straight ahead, but his mind was filled with speculations.

"I'm sure the star brooch must be at his house. I have to investigate his house tomorrow." Xiao Zhen muttered in a low voice but full of suspicion.

As he walked closer to his house, the sky suddenly darkened. A large UFO appeared above Xiao Zhen's head. A blue-green light shone on his body from the ship. The bottom door of the UFO slowly opened, emitting bright light and mysterious figures descended from it. They were aliens—tall, slender creatures with large glowing eyes and shiny bluish skin.

The aliens respectfully greeted the figure they called their king—who turned out to be in Xiao Zhen's body.

"How is it, sir? Have you gotten him?" asked one of the aliens in a hopeful tone.

"I haven't investigated him yet, but I'm sure that the boy named Jiu Fan must be hiding something," Xiao Zhen replied, with a voice that sounded different, deeper and heavier, as if it didn't come from him.

After the short conversation, the aliens returned to the UFO and disappeared into the dark night sky. Xiao Zhen walked back to her house quietly, as if nothing had happened.

Meanwhile, in Jiu Fan's house, the atmosphere was different. He was lying in his room, staring at the ceiling while thinking about the things that had happened. The star brooch hanging around his neck suddenly lit up with a shiny gold color.

"What's wrong, Taishe?" Jiu Fan asked, sitting up in shock.

"Do you know why Xiao Zhen's attitude has changed so much?" asked Taishe, a spiritual voice that only Jiu Fan could hear.

"I don't know, why?"

"Actually, I don't know for sure either, but I detected that there was a creature that was not from this world inside Xiao Zhen's body."

Jiu Fan was shocked, as if he couldn't believe what Taishe had said. Before he could ask further, the door to his room opened.

"Mom? Why did you suddenly come into my room?" asked Jiu Fan.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to surprise you. I just wanted to ask you for good news." said the mother with a warm smile.

"Good news?" Jiu Fan looked confused.

"Yes, because tomorrow is Sunday and you don't go to school. So, I talked to your father earlier and your father really agreed."

"Agreed for what?" asked Jiu Fan curiously.

"Tomorrow we will go on vacation out of town, how about it? Do you agree and will you come?" asked his mother.

"Vacation out of town? Okay, I will come," said Jiu Fan with a smile.

"Okay, now pack your clothes because we will be on vacation for three days and I have asked your teacher for permission that you cannot attend lessons for two days." said his mother as she closed the bedroom door.

Jiu Fan then took his cellphone on the table and immediately called Wu Lixue.

Jiu Fan: "Xiao Xue, tomorrow I will go on vacation out of town with my family. So tomorrow I can't play with you and Xiao Zhen."

Wu Lixue: "Out of town vacation? This is so sudden. I have to go to your house now!"

Jiu Fan: "For what?"

Wu Lixue: "It's okay. Okay, I'll go to your house now. See you."

Wu Lixue hung up the phone. Jiu Fan was surprised, why did Wu Lixue suddenly want to come to his house.

A few minutes later, Wu Lixue arrived in front of Jiu Fan's house and knocked on the door. Jiu Fan's mother opened the door.

"Ehh... Wu Lixue. You must be looking for Jiu Fan, right?" said the mother.

"Yes, auntie." replied Wu Lixue.

Jiu Fan's mother immediately called her son. "Fan'er! Your friend is coming."

"Tell him to come in, Mom!" replied Jiu Fan from upstairs.

"Come in, Wu Lixue. Jiu Fan is in his room on the second floor. Don't be shy, just make yourself at home," said his mother.

"Thank you, auntie." replied Wu Lixue politely, then went straight to Jiu Fan's room.

"Why did you come to my house?" asked Jiu Fan.

"I just wanted to give you this." said Wu Lixue as she handed a large plastic bag to Jiu Fan.

"What's this?"

"Those are the fruits and cakes that I gave you. When you go on vacation, don't forget to keep in touch with me, okay?"

"But why did you bother bringing me all this?"

"These are for you to eat in town later. Because I care about you, and also as a thank you for helping me that time." Wu Lixue replied with a shy smile.

Then Jiu Fan's mother came into the room while bringing food and drinks. "Eat, don't be shy." she said.

"Thank you again, auntie." Wu Lixue said politely.

"It's only right that guests are welcomed well by the host." his mother said. "Oh yeah, how is Jiu Fan's development at school?" she asked.

"Now Jiu Fan is much different from before. He's developed quite well." Wu Lixue replied.

"Really? How is your relationship with Jiu Fan?" Jiu Fan's mother asked with a mischievous smile.

"Relationship?" Wu Lixue said, then said in her heart, "Why did Jiu Fan's mother suddenly ask about my relationship with Jiu Fan? Does she already know everything?"

Then she said, "My relationship with Jiu Fan is only as friends, nothing more than that, auntie."

"Hahaha... I was just kidding, don't take it seriously." Jiu Fan's mother said as she left the room with a faint laugh.

Wu Lixue breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh yeah Jiu Fan, tomorrow Sunday Xiao Zhen asked me to play." she said.

"Xiao Zhen?" Jiu Fan said in a surprised tone.

"Yeah, are you jealous?" Wu Lixue asked with a teasing smile.

"Ah, no! In fact, I'm happy because during the holidays, you still don't feel lonely." Jiu Fan replied.

But in her heart, she said, "I hope Xiao Zhen only asked him to play. Hopefully he doesn't act arbitrarily towards Wu Lixue. Because I already know that Xiao Zhen is being controlled by a strange creature. But I shouldn't tell Wu Lixue this. I'm afraid she suspects me."

"Hey? Why are you daydreaming?" Wu Lixue asked.

"Nothing. You be careful." Jiu Fan replied.

"Be careful why? You seem to be hiding something from me. Are you jealous?" Wu Lixue asked.

"That's not it, I mean be careful not to meet someone like that time." Jiu Fan explained.

Wu Lixue nodded with curiosity. "Okay, I have to go home first." she said.

"Okay, be careful on the road." Jiu Fan said.

Then without warning, Wu Lixue immediately hugged Jiu Fan. "You have to be careful and promise to keep in touch with me." she said while shedding a few tears.

"Don't worry, I won't forget you." Jiu Fan said.

Although the mystery about Xiao Zhen has not been revealed, he still thinks well of Xiao Zhen. He hopes Xiao Zhen can take good care of Wu Lixue while she goes on vacation.
