HAZEL'S BEDROOM 3AM
Hazel's eyes fluttered open, and she groaned in pain. She struggled to sit up, but a sharp stinging sensation in her chest made her wince, forcing her back to lay down on the bed.
She started coughing out violently, Hazel tried to get out of bed, but her visions were blurry and she couldn't breath.
She stumbled to the bathroom, collapsing on the floor,Blood spilled from her lips, and tears streamed down her face as she shut her eyes tightly.
With great effort, Hazel crawled back to the bedroom, her trembling body was weak that she could barely move.
She opened the drawers, quickly grabbing her box of pills. She swallowed two, as always.
The bleeding would stop within two minutes.
The coughing and bleeding finally subsided, but Hazel remained on the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.
Just a few months left...
EVERSTON INC
Liam sat behind his massive desk, phone pressed to his ear as he listened to the voice on the other end.
Just as he was about to respond, the door to his office burst open with a loud crash, making him jump in surprise.
He looked up to see Hazel stumbling into the room, with a man holding her arm tightly.
Liam immediately hung up the call staring at them in confusion but his eyes were mainly on Hazel.
Her face was pale with dark circles under her eyes and her eyes were red and puffy like she had been crying.
Her hair was disheveled and her lips looked really dry.
But it was the pain that was in her face that really caught Liam's attention.
She looked like she was on the verge of collapse, and when his eyes went to the man holding her roughly, He balled his fists.
"Who the hell are you?" he growled, standing up. His face filled with anger.
Dawson's grip on Hazel's arm tightened, and Liam's anger grew.
"Let go of her," he snarled, moving towards them.
"I'm Dawson,Her husband."
Liam's expression darkened, So this was her husband? Who always abandoned her at the office late at night? The asshole!
His gaze shifted to Hazel, and his expression softened. Her eyes were wide with fear.
"And what exactly am I supposed to do with that information?" Liam asked coldl.
Dawson stepped forward, Glaring at Liam.
"Let me make one thing clear,Hazel is here to work, and that's all. I don't want you near her, I don't want you dropping her off at our house, and I don't want you contacting her except for work-related matters. Do I make myself clear?"
Liam's jaw clenched and pulled Hazel away from him.
"This is my company, my office, and you can't just barge into my office. You have no right to tell me what to do or how to run my business."
He took a step forward, staring at him with anger.
"As for Hazel, I don't care if she's your wife or not, You don't own her. she's my employee, and I'll drive her home whenever I want,Call her whenever I want and stay with her as long as I want. You, on the other hand, are nothing but a nuisance."
Hazel eyes went wide at his words
"Sir..., please...don't..."
She trailed off, her eyes darting nervously to Liam's face. She was scared of getting fired, and she didn't want to make the situation any worse.
Liam's gaze flicked to Hazel, and for a moment, his expression softened.
He took out his phone and dialed a number.
"There's a garbage in my office right now, Come take him out right now"
He hanged up and his eyes went back to Dawson and his face hardened.
"Security will escort you out, and don't ever come back to blabber nonsense like this again."
Dawson stepped forward, attempting to hit Liam but then the security guards dragged him out like a dog and Liam smirked.
How the hell did Hazel end up with a man like that?
As soon as Dawson was dragged out. Hazel suddenly felt dizzy and was about to fall but Liam's strong arms wrapped around her, holding her closely to his chest.
She leaned against him tightly, holding him for support.
"You're burning up, you need to urgently see a doctor" he whispered softly, his breath warm against her ear.
Hazel's eyes fluttered open, and she looked up at Liam, her eyes wide. "N...no doctor," she whispered, her voice croaked.
She didn't even have the strength to speak properly.
Liam's face was filled with worry, and he pulled her closer, his arms tightening around her.
"But you need one," he insisted, his voice soft.
Hazel shook her head, pressing her face closer to his chest. Her nose was buried in the warmth of his shirt, and she could smell the scent of his cologne, a subtle blend of spices and leather.
His arms were wrapped tightly around her, holding her close.
Hazel felt so tiny and fragile in his arms, She didn't want let go.
Liam's eyes scanned Hazel's face, his eyes filled with so much concern that she felt her heart beating fast against her chest.
"Okay, no doctor," he said softly. "But I don't think you're in a good condition to work. You're burning up with fever, and you can barely stand."
She gasped when he gently lifted her into his arms in bridal style. He headed to the door that led to his private bedroom at the office.
"You're going to rest. I'll get you water and you can sleep for as long as you want"
Hazel nodded weakly, She was too tired to argue,Too weak to speak.
She smiled weakly.
He was taking care of her, and he seemed to genuinely care about her well-being. It was a strange feeling, but it was also kinda nice.
Liam pushed opened the door and carried her inside, laying her down on the bed Gently.
He pulled up the covers up her body, tucking her in gently.
Liam sat down beside her on the bed, gently brushing a strand of hair and of her face and she flinched. He immediately withdrawed his hands and smiled softly.
"You still need water?"
She shook her head, her eyes closing.
"What about food, Aren't you hungry?"
She shook her head again.
"Okay but you have to eat when you wake up hmm, I'll force you to if I have to"He touched her nose and her lips curved into a faint smile.
"Thank you"She whispered softly before drifting off to sleep.
