The dawn mist still clung to the dome like a ghost refusing to leave. The air was cool, still, and silent—until the firm echo of boots shattered the calm.
Unit 06 stood in formation.
Their bodies were still recovering from the soul ring breakthroughs, and the weight of progress still hung in their bones. But their eyes... their eyes burned with something new: hunger.
Inspector Liu stood before them, arms crossed, face sharp like steel. Behind him was a wide projection circle—empty and humming, as if waiting for something ancient to awaken.
He began without introduction.
> "You've broken your rings. Good. You've scratched the surface of your soul energy. Better. But today, you begin to learn the truth of control. Today, you begin to walk the path of Soul Release."
The air thickened.
He continued, his voice like thunder hidden behind calm.
> "Soul Release is when your energy no longer stays locked in your sphere. You begin to channel it outward, through every fiber of your body. If you succeed—your soul armor is born."
They looked at each other—confused, uncertain, but curious.
> "Soul Armor," Liu said slowly, "is the physical manifestation of your will—your soul's intent wrapped around your body. It is power. It is protection. But above all… it is identity."
He stepped forward.
> "And with it comes your Soul Weapon—the spirit-forged weapon born from your deepest resolve. Together, they are your legacy."
He took a deep breath, his muscles tightening.
Suddenly, water vapor hissed from his pores. A thin mist blanketed his skin, then with a surge of soul energy, metallic plates made of glowing blue water condensed around him. The armor formed like scales of a dragon, wrapping his body in fluid power.
In his hand, water spiraled upward, condensing into a glowing trident.
> "This... is my release," he said. "My armor is fluidity and pressure. My weapon—Hydro-Surge. When water is forged with intent, it cuts deeper than blades."
They stared, speechless.
Zane swallowed hard. "He's made of water and steel…"
Kira's eyes were wide with awe. "That's not just control. That's art."
Liu let the armor fade with a breath, his body returning to its normal state.
He turned sharply. "Now it's your turn."
Each member sat cross-legged. Silence fell. The dome dimmed.
> "Close your eyes. Focus on your Soul Sphere. Feel it. Imagine it pouring through your limbs—your veins, your muscles, your skin. Let it touch everything. If it listens… even a spark of armor will form."
They obeyed.

Inner Worlds: Soul Journeys
Zane felt it first—his soul, trapped in a furnace of ambition. Flames surged, pressing against glass. He forced it through his veins. But his energy was still raw, wild. The fire wouldn't settle. No armor came.
Kayden's soul was thunder in a bottle. He breathed, focusing. Lightning raced through his chest—but it dispersed. The pulse was there, but not the harmony. He gritted his teeth, sweat trailing down his face.
Kira felt the swirl of blizzards inside her. Her soul was calm, like snowfall… then fierce like a glacier cracking. She tried to guide it, but ice only coated her fingertips before fading.
Henry's was a spinning whirlwind. Laughter echoed in his soul—light-hearted, free. But too free. His wind scattered. "Ah, not today, Henry," he muttered with a grin.
Devin went deeper. His soul space was a metallic cube, rotating in rhythm. He tried releasing its energy through his arms—but it jammed. "More precision," he thought.
And then—
Elliot.
He stood in a dark storm. Chains of gold wrapped a swirling orb of shadows. The sphere pulsed like a heart. He remembered his mother's voice. His father's last words. The scream. The blood.
His fingers clenched.
> "I will never be that weak again."
He pushed the energy out, shadows spilling from the sphere like ink—but the chains tightened, locking it back. He screamed inwardly, but nothing formed.

Return to the Dome
One by one, they opened their eyes.
Failure.
Inspector Liu stood, watching, unfazed.
> "Good," he said. "None of you succeeded."
They blinked, confused.
> "Because no one does. Not at first. Your energy isn't a toy. It needs to know you before it obeys."
He turned.
> "Let that failure burn into your memory. Let it make you hungrier."
As he walked away, he stopped at the exit.
> "In seven days, you'll try again. One week to train your soul like never before."
Then he vanished into the hallway, leaving behind six exhausted, frustrated students.
Zane looked at Elliot.
> "We're going to become monsters, aren't we?"
Elliot stood, sweat on his brow, fire in his eyes.
> "No. We're going to become legends."
