Chapter 10:
Kick-off.
Room 109 vs Room 107.
The whistle echoed through the high-tech arena. No crowd. Just breath, heartbeats, and ambition.
Minute 1.
Mio zipped through midfield, his footwork like a skipping beat. No wasted motion. Just rhythm.
Haru cut him off with a single step.
Clean steal.
Counterattack.
Kai sprinted into space.
Haru: "Now."
The pass came — low and fast. Kai launched into a powerful shot without breaking stride.
> "Demon Curve."
The ball curved wickedly and slammed into the bottom corner.
1–0.
---
Break.
Room 109 regrouped in silence. No celebration.
Kai: "We got one. Don't blink."
Across the field, Renji smiled.
"Let's make this fun."
---
Minute 7.
Room 107 pushed forward.
Mio backheeled into the center. Renji ran onto it like a charging beast.
He didn't stop — just launched himself into the air and struck mid-jump.
"Dragon Burst."
The net shook.
1–1.
---
Short Pause.
Haru walked back slowly, eyes fixed on Renji.
"He's not reckless. That was rehearsed."
---
Minute 14.
The tempo exploded.
Room 109 passed with precision — building through the zones.
Yuuji, the quiet strategist of 109, released a sudden vertical pass to Haru.
Haru flicked it up, then released his shot:
"Phantom Drive."
The ball rose, then sank unnaturally. But Mio cleared it last second with a mid-air volley.
---
Minute 17.
Mio turned defense into attack instantly.
Triple step feint.
Speed burst.
"Catch me, ghosts."
He passed to Renji, then instantly ran into the box.
Return pass.
Mio didn't shoot. He tapped it sideways to a third player.
Surprise shot. Goal.
2–1.
Room 107 took the lead.
---
Break.
Coach Kiyoshi, watching from a control room, smirked.
"They finally understand."
---
Minute 21.
Haru adjusted.
He started demanding passes, leading the press.
109 responded.
Kai fired again — this time blocked.
Yuuji attempted a long-range shot — hit the post.
Rebound came to Haru.
He stopped.
"Now."
Then tapped the ball gently to Kai, who was completely unmarked.
Shot.
2–2.
Final Minutes.
Everything blurred — pressing, tackles, creativity.
Then Renji got the ball again.
"Let's end this."
He faked a shot — defenders bit.
But Haru, silent, didn't move.
"I saw this once already."
Haru stole the ball cleanly and launched a final counter.
Time ran out before a final shot could be taken.
---
Full-time: 2–2
A draw — but respect was earned.
---
Post-Match.
As players left the field, Renji stopped Haru.
"You're not flashy. But you break patterns."
Haru replied quietly:
"Ego doesn't mean loud. It means sharp."
Renji grinned.
"Next time, I'll crush you."
