Chapter 326 First Mission
In Brainstorm form, Yang Le's work progress could only be described as rapid. Relying on Brainstorm's intelligence and excellent physical capabilities, repairing this Base was easy for him.
Of course, Yang Le didn't finish all the work, even leaving some for those who arrived late.
Aqualad Jackson arrived shortly after Yang Le transformed into Brainstorm. Although this honest child was curious about Yang Le's large crab form, he didn't ask and simply went to work.
Afterwards, Dick and Roy also arrived. These two also cast many glances at Yang Le in his large crab form, but they didn't ask. Instead, they went to Megan to inquire.
Only Wally, who arrived last, couldn't contain himself upon entering. If Dick hadn't held him back, he might have shouted.
"What's with this big crab?" Wally pointed at Yang Le. "Is it a helper you brought, Jackson?"
"No, Wally," Jackson put down the heavy object in his hands. "This is Mr. Yang Le, the guardian the Justice League assigned to us yesterday."
"I know that." Wally scratched his head. "But wasn't he a Snow Monster yesterday? How did he turn into a crab today?"
"There are many people in the Justice League who can change their appearance. Look at the symbol under his head, don't you think it's exactly the same as the one on the Snow Monster yesterday?" Dick patted Wally's shoulder. "Megan can also transform, have you forgotten?"
"Mr. Yang Le's transformation is actually a bit different from mine," Megan said softly. "It feels like Mr. Yang Le's transformation is like changing into a different species."
Yang Le, through the metal plate he was controlling, saw the children gathered together whispering. Just as he was about to remind them, the communicator in the Base rang first.
Using brainwave control to press the button, the newly installed screen immediately lit up, and Superman with a serious face appeared on it.
"Young Justice, this is Superman, a mission has been assigned to you."
"New mission!" Wally flashed and ran to the screen. "Super villain? Or a huge natural disaster? I can't wait to show off my skills!"
The other children also walked to Wally's side. Although they didn't show as much excitement as Wally, their expressions showed they were also anticipating a special mission.
"What mission is it, Superman?" Yang Le moved his crab legs and approached the screen.
Superman was a little surprised, after all, he hadn't seen Brainstorm before. But upon seeing the Omnitrix symbol under Yang Le's head, he immediately recognized him.
"This is Yang Le, right?" "Yes, it's me. This is one of my forms."
"Alright." Superman put aside his doubts and continued.
"Wizard Wotan is attempting to use the Amulet of Aten to block out the sun…"
"Block out the sun!" Wally exclaimed, surprised and delighted. "Wow! This is way more awesome than any mission I imagined! If we complete this mission, we'll definitely get promoted straight to the Justice League!"
"Keep it down," Dick whispered, nudging Wally with his elbow. Despite his composed demeanor, the corner of his mouth he couldn't suppress betrayed his true idea. The other children were the same.
Yang Le certainly heard Wally's words. To this, Yang Le could only think: *Too young, kid.*
"The Justice League has deployed all available personnel to stop him. But simultaneously, an explosion occurred at Cadmus Labs in Washington D.C. Now, the entire Cadmus Labs is engulfed in flame."
"Batman has been keeping an eye on that place for a while. He suspects Cadmus Labs might not be as simple as it seems. Therefore, he needs the Young Justice to use firefighting as a reason to infiltrate it and uncover the truth."
"Oh, come on." Wally couldn't help but deflate. Although infiltrating a secret facility sounds cool, it's a bit underwhelming compared to a super villain trying to block out the sun.
If he hadn't heard about the previous mission, Wally might have happily gone to carry out the infiltration mission. But unfortunately, he did hear it, and now this mission felt a bit unsatisfying.
Although the other children were more or less disappointed, none were as dramatic as Wally. Dick, especially, after hearing the plan, remained in a thoughtful posture, head down, seemingly lost in thought.
"Young Justice has received the mission." Yang Le tapped the operation console a few times and brought up the information on Cadmus Labs. "We'll head to the scene immediately."
"Good luck to you all." Superman finished speaking and ended the communication, clearly heading off to deal with Wotan's business.
"Alright, children," Yang Le turned around. "You've all heard the mission. Time waits for no one, so let's head out quickly. We can discuss the specifics on the way, otherwise the fire will be out by the time we get there."
"How are we going to get there?" Roy asked. "Is there any transportation tool here?"
"Of course." Yang Le gently tapped his two crab pincers together. A crisp sound rang out, immediately followed by the roar of an engine.
Everyone turned around to find a very ordinary-looking RV appearing behind them. It seemed to have driven out from the corridor.
"An RV?" This time it wasn't just Wally; even Dick was taken aback. "If we arrive at the scene in *that*, I'll definitely get photographed and become a laughingstock online."
"He's right," Wally agreed, looking resistant. "I'd rather run there myself."
"I'd rather you carry me on your back," Dick said seriously.
"So, you don't want to ride in *her*." Yang Le smirked, though Brainstorm couldn't open his mouth, so Dick and Wally could only sense something was off from his voice.
"Of course," Wally said, stretching his legs, looking like he was genuinely planning to run to the scene.
"Alright," Yang Le sighed. "Let's get this Little Broken Car going."
After the Little Broken Car honked a few times, under everyone's stunned gaze, it transformed from an ordinary RV into a sleek, high-tech armored car. If they hadn't witnessed it firsthand, no one would have connected it to the previous RV.
"Alright, children, get in," Yang Le said, waving a pincer. The Little Broken Car obligingly opened its door. "Find a spot you like. If you need anything, just tell Little Broken Car; she has her own thought and can understand your requests."
"Cool," even the usually composed Jackson couldn't help but exclaim in admiration, let alone the others. The children quickly headed for the Little Broken Car, choosing their preferred spots.
Wally and Dick remained silent, cautiously approaching. Just as they were about to get into the car, the door slammed shut.
"Sorry, children," Yang Le said, leaning out from the driver's seat. "Like I said, Little Broken Car has her own ideas. Apparently, she really didn't like what you said earlier. Looks like you two will have to run to Cadmus Labs."
Dick and Wally exchanged a look and said in unison,
"Oh, bother!"
(End of Chapter)
Chapter 327 Fire at Cadmus Labs
In the end, Dick and Wally still got into the Little Broken Car. This was thanks to the Little Broken Car being reasonable, knowing the mission was emergency and not making things difficult for them. Normally, they wouldn't be so lucky when going out.
The speed of the Little Broken Car was directly proportional to its cool appearance. It didn't take long to carry everyone to their destination—Cadmus Labs.
Everyone got out of the Little Broken Car and immediately ran towards the firefighters, preparing to get firsthand intelligence from the scene.
"I am Aqualad, Aquaman's assistant. May I ask what the situation is now?" Jackson first stated his identity before opening his mouth to ask about the situation at the scene, just to avoid unnecessary trouble.
Sure enough, after Aqualad stated his identity, the firefighters immediately told him the intelligence without hesitation.
"It seems something exploded in the laboratory." The firefighter said, pointing to the third floor. "The personnel on the first and second floors have all been evacuated. But the people on the third floor are trapped there."
Aqualad looked up and sure enough, the window on the third floor was open, and three experiment personnel were standing inside calling for help. Through the window on the second floor below them, they could see that it was already a sea of fire inside.
"It's really strange." The firefighter muttered. "I've never encountered such a fire before. It spread so quickly, but it has never reached the third floor. It's really strange."
Aqualad relied on superhuman senses to hear the firefighter's muttering. He glanced at him out of the corner of his eyes and found that the other party was also secretly looking at him, and immediately understood what the other party meant.
Obviously, this experienced firefighter had noticed something was wrong, but the other party was afraid that there was some kind of supernatural power here that he couldn't interfere with. However, the sense of justice in his heart still prompted this warrior to quietly remind Aqualad, in case the latter couldn't see it.
"Thank you." Aqualad responded to the firefighter in a low voice.
Although the main purpose of their mission this time was to investigate Cadmus Labs, even without the firefighter's reminder, they would investigate thoroughly. However, the firefighter's sense of justice still made him feel admiration in his heart.
Seeing that Aqualad understood what he meant, the firefighter pretended that nothing had happened and continued to direct the firefighting work.
"Boom!"
At this moment, a small explosion occurred on the fourth floor above the third floor. One of the three experiment personnel on the third floor was frightened and lost his footing, falling out head first.
"Ah!" The experiment personnel flailed his hand and foot as he fell from the air and was about to die on the spot.
However, a yellow shadow was faster than him. In the blink of an eye, not to mention the experiment personnel falling from the air, even the experiment personnel trapped on the third floor had disappeared.
When everyone came back to their senses, the three experiment personnel had already arrived at the safe zone on the ground. The three experiment personnel still maintained the movements of the previous second, those who should ask for help asked for help, and those who should flail their hand and foot flailed their hand and foot.
Two experiment personnel asking for help had already reacted. The one flailing his hand and foot closed his eyes because of fear, and because he was too afraid, he didn't feel that his feet had actually touched the ground. He was still flailing his hand and foot, and finally tripped over his left foot and fell to the ground.
"Ahhh, ouch!" The experiment personnel who fell opened his eyes blankly, and then saw his colleagues and others staring at him with strange gaze.
"Blame me for being late." Kid Flash helped the experiment personnel up from the ground. "You are alright now, sir."
"Ah? Oh, oh, oh." The experiment personnel awkwardly tidied up his clothes. "Thank you, Flash Boy."
Kid Flash's face immediately fell when he heard the experiment personnel's address to him, and said, "It's Kid Flash! Sir!"
"Good job, Kid Flash." Aqualad walked over at this time and patted him on the shoulder. The surrounding crowd also applauded him.
"I like to be one step ahead." Kid Flash puffed out his chest, receiving the praise from everyone.
"Then you may be one step behind this time." Brainstorm moved his crab legs and walked over. Martian Girl, uneasy, followed behind him.
"Didn't you find that there is one person missing?"
After Brainstorm's reminder, Kid Flash and Aqualad immediately reacted. Martian Girl was by Brainstorm's side, so it was self-evident who was missing.
"Robin." ×2
Kid Flash and Aqualad immediately spoke in unison, and at the same time helplessly covered their heads. They had heard about the Bat Family's turning around from their elders long ago, but it was the first time they had personally encountered it.
"He disappeared as early as when Aqualad was communicating with the firefighter." Megan said in a low voice. She buried her whole body behind Brainstorm, as if she was in fear of something?
Wally was a little puzzled and asked, "What's wrong, Martian Girl? Are you feeling unwell?"
"I'm fine." Martian Girl forced a wry smile. "It's just a little too hot."
'Martians have a natural fear of flame.' Just as Wally wanted to continue asking, Brainstorm used telepathic ability to project words into the brains of the three.
The developed brain brought many convenient abilities to Brainstorm. Although Ben only used his bio-electric ability in the original work, the production team came out to clarify that Brainstorm is not an electricity alien, they are a superpower type.
'Wow!' Megan was a little surprised, and even the fear of flame temporarily dissipated. 'So Mr. Yang Le also has mental abilities!'
No wonder everyone didn't notice it. Brainstorm's original way of speaking still used sound wave, making everyone unaware that he didn't actually open his mouth to speak.
'That's not important.' Brainstorm did not respond to the girl. "We are still on a mission, Martian Girl."
After slightly reprimanding the girl, Brainstorm continued.
'Martian Girl's strength will be greatly reduced because of her fear of flame. As her teammates, what you need now is to help her eliminate difficulties.'
'Understood.' Aqualad drew out the Aquapack behind him. The mark on his arms glowed with a cold white light. The fire hydrant on the side made a teeth-aching creaking sound. After a second, a huge water flow spurted out from the fire hydrant.
Although the water flow was turbulent, not a single drop was wasted. It was all under Aqualad's control, like a water dragon drawing a graceful arc in the air.
"Drink!"
Aqualad waved his arms, and the water dragon immediately rushed towards the laboratory. The sea of fire, which was originally faintly out of control, was immediately extinguished, and only a few wisps of black smoke slowly flew out.
"Gag!"
Brainstorm used telekinesis to tighten the fire hydrant, saving water resources from being wasted. Although the fire was resolved, these children were still a bit reckless in their work.
'Not bad.' Brainstorm still praised Aqualad. Unless there was a huge mistake, Brainstorm advocated that any bad words should be left until they returned. Saying it now would dampen the children's enthusiasm.
'Now you should go find the guy who left the team.'
Chapter 328: The Secret of Cadmus Labs
On the third floor of Cadmus Labs, Robin was at a Computer, his fingers flying across the Keyboard, Data flashing across his Eyes.
Just then, a pair of Hands emerged from the Darkness, slowly reaching for Robin, who, as the Target, seemed completely unaware.
"You guys finally came," Robin said without even turning his head, making the Hand reaching out from behind him freeze in Mid-air. Kid Flash awkwardly stepped out from the Darkness, followed by Aqualad.
"How did you know?" Kid Flash asked.
"Because that's my specialty," Robin explained.
Aqualad walked past Kid Flash and said to Robin with a serious Face, "We should act together, Robin. If you want to act alone, you should tell us first."
"Sorry," Robin's tone didn't contain a hint of apology. "I thought we had already agreed. You are responsible for attracting attention, and I am responsible for sneaking in to obtain Information. After all, in that situation just now, this was the only thing I could do."
Seeing Robin still quibbling, Aqualad knew that now was not a good time to discuss these things. It was unwise to argue with teammates during a Mission. They should focus on the matter at hand, and they could argue about who was right and who was wrong when they returned.
"Where's Miss Martian?" Robin took a moment to look back and found that one person was missing from the Team. "Didn't she keep up with us?"
'I'm here, Robin.' Miss Martian's Voice rang in his Brain. 'Martians are afraid of Fire. Although the Flame has been extinguished now, Mr. Yang Le is worried that there may still be flammables inside, so Mr. Yang Le asked me to stay outside to provide you with help.'
Martian Manhunter's Telepathy could even cover an entire Earth. Miss Martian, who would not be weaker than him in the future, still had no Problem covering the entire Cadmus Labs at this time.
'That's enough.' Robin's Corner of Mouth curled up, and he continued to deal with the Information in front of him.
Hacking-related Work was not the forte of Aqualad and the other two. Bored, the three could only start searching the Room.
Kid Flash looked at this for a while, and touched that for a while, looking less like he was here to investigate and more like a child exploring Papa's Study Room. Speedy stood beside Robin, helping him process the excessive Data. Aqualad saw that someone was in charge of the Room, so he consciously walked out of the Room and began searching outside.
Perhaps because of the Fire, the Lights in the Research Institute were all out. Even Aqualad's eyesight, which far exceeded that of Ordinary person, could see very little. He readily prepared to choose the Room opposite for exploration, after all, it was the closest.
But as soon as Aqualad walked out of the Room, his peripheral vision caught a glimpse of Light. He was immediately attracted by the Light and turned his head to look over.
Relying on the Lights that lit up, Aqualad identified that it was an Elevator. The Door of the Elevator should be in the process of closing at this time. Aqualad still saw a Figure standing in the Elevator through the Door Crack, but because of the backlight, he could not see the Face of that person clearly.
"Wait!" Aqualad shouted loudly and ran towards the Elevator. This Sound was not only to call out to the person taking the Elevator, but also to remind the two people in the Room.
Sure enough, Kid Flash heard the movement and immediately ran out and overtook Aqualad, arriving at the Elevator Door first. Unfortunately, when Aqualad saw it, only a Crack was left in the Elevator Door. Counting the Time it took him to react and the Time to call out, even Kid Flash could not catch up.
"What's wrong, Aqualad?" Kid Flash turned around and asked. He heard the Time and rushed over immediately. Seeing Aqualad running towards this side, he ran over without saying a word, still not understanding what happened.
"I saw a Figure," Aqualad also stopped and pressed the Elevator button. "That Shadow is very strange. Although it was only a glimpse, I seemed to see Horns on the Figure's head."
"Horns?" Kid Flash said in surprise, but he immediately became excited again. "Then that might be the Mastermind behind this Fire, maybe a Super Villain."
"This is getting interesting." Robin and **Artemis** arrived late. Robin activated the Microcomputer on his arm, and the Projection Screen illuminated this Dark Space.
Kid Flash said, "Right! Things are getting interesting!"
"That's not what I'm talking about." Robin tapped the Screen lightly. "What we have in front of us is a High-speed Elevator, but Cadmus is just a four-story Building. Normally speaking, it is impossible to use this kind of Elevator."
"What does this mean?" Aqualad asked. Regarding Machines, he was not completely ignorant, but he was only limited to various Electrical Appliances in daily Life. The various Devices of the Justice League were also recently started to be learned.
"It means there is a deeper Space underneath," Artemis explained. This was not difficult to guess. Cadmus Labs was just a small area on the Ground. Superman could jump over it on tiptoe. There were only two possibilities for a High-speed Elevator that would only be used in skyscrapers.
First, the leader of Cadmus Labs was a fool with a lot of Money, just like Bruce Wayne on the surface.
Second, there were more floors under Cadmus Labs.
Robin didn't care what others thought, but he preferred the second one.
"We'll know when we take a look." Aqualad said as he walked up, placing his Hands on each side of the Elevator Door, and slightly exerted force with his Fingers to pry into the Elevator Door. With another force from his arms, the Elevator Door was immediately pulled open.
The four of them poked their heads out together, only to see a bottomless Elevator Shaft. This was obviously not the depth of an Elevator Shaft in a four-story Building.
"It seems the Answer is right in front of us." Robin used the Microcomputer to Record the scene in front of him. "Obviously, this is the Road to the Secret of Cadmus Labs."
"Then we should retreat," Aqualad said. "We have thoroughly investigated the Secret of Cadmus. We should leave and report this Intelligence to the Justice League."
Artemis disagreed. He said, "If that's the case, we will never want to become official members of the Justice League in our Life. How much Merit can a well-behaved baby who only obeys orders have?"
Kid Flash also agreed with Artemis's Opinion, and said, "Maybe we can go a little deeper."
Robin delivered the final blow.
"The Mission the Justice League gave us is to investigate the Truth of Cadmus Labs. A bottomless Research Institute is not much of a Truth."
"What about Mr. Yang Le?" Aqualad was a little hesitant. His Brain told him that this was very dangerous and wrong, but his Inner Heart also wanted to make a big Business.
"This is easy!" Robin smiled mysteriously. 'Miss Martian, can you hear me?'
'I can hear you.' Megan's Voice rang in everyone's Brain. 'I heard the whole process through your Brains. What do you need me to do?'
'Just don't tell that big Crab.' Robin showed a smirk. 'Help us hold him back, and you will be the number one contributor, Megan.'
Chapter 329: Adventure Team's (Not) Underground Exploration of Cadmus Labs
"What's wrong, Martian Girl?" Yang Le noticed Megan's body stiffen and sensed her unusual brainwaves. He immediately realized that Robin and his gang were up to something again.
"Nothing, sir," Martian Girl replied stiffly. "It's just that Robin sent over a lot of information, and I wasn't prepared for it and got startled."
"Is that so?" Yang Le didn't dwell on the matter. No escape, Robin and the others were definitely up to something, and they had even turned Megan to their side.
The Bat-family kids all had a bit of a rebellious spirit in them. Wally was also restless, and Roy had an unusual obsession with joining the Justice League. Even Jackson, a steady and humble good kid whose skin color was very mismatched, definitely wouldn't be able to hold on. After all, he was just a 16-year-old child.
And Megan, this child who subconsciously tried to please others due to her own reasons, definitely wouldn't offer other opinions at this time. Not wanting to be out of place was the key reason why she didn't dare to refute others.
However, this was not beyond Yang Le's expectations. Rather, he had expected it long ago. To make these children behave, he probably had to wait until they grew up or lost something important.
Three men make a tiger; it couldn't be more fitting for these children. A group of naughty children together always dared to do things they wouldn't normally do. In Yang Le's opinion, these naughty children needed some deeper lessons.
Thinking about it, Yang Le suddenly had a good idea, a good idea that even made him feel a little chilly. If this plan succeeded, Yang Le might be able to reap a bunch of fun… no, a team of helpful and mature Super Heroes.
As a teacher, Yang Le nodded. If he said he'd do it, he'd do it. For the fresh blood of the Justice League, he was duty-bound and could not refuse!
"Are you thirsty, Martian Girl?" Yang Le pointed to the little broken car on the side. "There are some iced drinks in the car, Cola? Juice? Or water?"
"Ah? Oh!" Martian Girl was obviously not used to lying, and looked startled. "Juice, juice will do."
"OK." Yang Le moved his crab legs and quickly walked to the little broken car. Under Megan's worried gaze, he closed the car door. Every second Yang Le disappeared was torment for Megan.
Just when Martian Girl couldn't help but want to use telepathy to check Yang Le's state, Yang Le leisurely opened the car door and walked out, with two cans of drink clamped in his crab claws.
"Sorry, after the little broken car transformed, the refrigerator was hidden in the trunk. It took some time to find it." Yang Le's face was as usual, or rather, no one could see any change in his expression on his face made of hard carapace.
"Here, this is your juice." Yang Le handed the fruit juice to Martian Girl. "What's wrong? You don't look too good. Is the fear of fire still there?"
"Yes, yes, a little bit." Martian Girl guiltily took the fruit juice, stiffly opened it, and took a small sip. The icy and sweet fruit juice relaxed her slightly.
"If you feel uncomfortable, be sure to tell me in time." Yang Le's eyes flickered, and a blue thing quietly drilled into the ground from behind him. None of the people present noticed this abnormality.
While Martian Girl was playing wits with Yang Le, the Adventure Team hadn't stopped their adventure. At this time, they were relying on Robin and Speedy's grappling hook to continuously descend. In the end, they had to stop at the twenty-sixth floor below ground because the rope length was not enough.
"Opened it." Robin operated on the microcomputer for a while, and the elevator door slowly opened. "Welcome to the real Cadmus Labs underground."
The dim tunnel and the ground-level research institute were simply two different art styles. The group walked into the tunnel, and Kid Flash's corner of mouth curled up as he looked at the long tunnel.
'I'll go ahead and scout the way,' he said in the telepathic channel, and before the others could reply, he rushed out first.
Aqualad covered his forehead. This team was really difficult to lead. Although he was not the captain, as the oldest person in the team, he subconsciously took this duty upon himself.
There was no way around it. Although Speedy was the same age as him, the former was still of unstable temperament and might quarrel with others for some reason.
'Slow down, Kid Flash!' Helplessly, Aqualad could only remind him in the telepathic channel and then led the remaining two people to try their best to keep up with the former.
The transmission of the telepathic channel was much faster than sound, but by the time Kid Flash received it, he had already run to the corner of the tunnel. When he was about to turn, he saw an incomparably huge figure.
"Dong!"
Muffled footsteps came. Those were several behemoths with huge bodies and gray skin. They looked like behemoths that often appeared in games and various works. The steps of these giants were surprisingly uniform, and the footsteps were all coming at the same time.
Kid Flash was startled by these suddenly appearing behemoths and scrambled to climb away from the inevitable path of the giants. What was surprising was that these giants clearly bumped into Kid Flash head-on but did not react to the latter at all, as if they didn't see him.
'Kid Flash, are you alright?' Taking advantage of Kid Flash's daze, Aqualad had already run behind him and issued an ask.
'I'm fine,' Kid Flash came back to his senses. 'Do you know what those are?'
'Obviously, these are the truth of Cadmus Labs.'
Speedy and Robin arrived late. After all, they were just ordinary people. Although their physical strength far exceeded their peers, they were definitely no match for the two superhuman in front.
'Look there.' Robin pointed to the crown of the giants. The others followed the direction of Robin's finger and found that on the crown of one of the giants, there was a creature with a petite body, also with gray skin color, and two small red horns growing on its head.
Speedy pulled out the bow on his back, while Robin was using the microcomputer to record everything in front of him.
'I feel like there are definitely more secrets waiting for us.' Robin looked in the direction where the giants came from.
The group moved forward in the direction where the giants came from. After walking for about five or six minutes, they finally saw a reinforced metal security door. Robin didn't say a word and took out the microcomputer to start deciphering the gate password.
Obviously, this kind of registered security door could not stop Robin. It only took thirty seconds for the security door to open.
'As simple as going home,' Robin boasted a little and took the lead to walk in.
As soon as they entered the door, the Adventure Team was shocked by the scene in front of them. This was an incomparably wide room. In the room, several rows of walls composed of half-person-high glass tanks and four to five meters high were neatly arranged.
In those half-person-high glass tanks, there were bugs with terrifying shapes that were half a person tall. Their bodies glowed with cyan electric light, and the electric light was transmitted to all directions along the conduit.
'This is a power plant,' Robin said with certainty.
Chapter 330 Kr. Plan
'No wonder.' Robin continued to record everything he saw before him with the Microcomputer.
'I was wondering how such a huge facility could be located underground with such alarming Power Consumption. The Justice League couldn't possibly miss something so obvious. It turns out it's not connected to the National Grid, nor is it relying on other Energy sources, but on these creatures for Power Generation.'
Aqualad walked to Robin's side and said, 'In mythology, Cadmus created new species by sowing Dragon Teeth into the Land. Obviously, Cadmus Labs in front of us is doing the same thing.'
Kid Flash looked at everything in front of him, inexplicably feeling a sense of familiarity. Just as he was about to think further about where this familiarity came from, he lost consciousness.
'Kid Flash? What's wrong?' Martian Manhunter's voice came through. The other three also heard Martian Manhunter's voice in the Mind Link and turned their heads.
Kid Flash covered his forehead, shook his head painfully, and said, 'I'm fine, I just suddenly felt dizziness just now, maybe it's because of the creatures in those tanks?'
'Really? I thought you lost consciousness just now.' Martian Manhunter said uneasily. 'After all, you just went offline.'
'It's okay, if I really fainted, I would have fallen to the ground.' Kid Flash put down his hand, looking no different from usual.
'Kid Flash, if you really feel uncomfortable, you must tell us.' Aqualad walked over, his face full of worry.
'I know.' Kid Flash nodded.
'It seems staying here for too long may have some impact on the human body.' Robin glanced at the strange creatures around him. 'Then we have to be quicker.'
As he spoke, Robin walked towards the computer on the side. It looked like it should be the Control Panel for controlling these creatures.
Robin pulled out a Data Cable from the Microcomputer on his arm, connected it to the computer, and began his performance.
Through the program he designed, Robin successfully cracked the Protection System of the computer without much effort. Then, various information about Cadmus Labs appeared before their eyes.
'These things are called Genetically Modified Beings, good heavens, look at this Ability Data: Super Strength, Telepathy, Razor Claws, Iron Armor Skin, Bio-electricity Generation, this is a pile of Bio-weapons!'
The Young Justice members became serious when they heard this. They should know that there were no less than a hundred species they saw, and if they added those they didn't see as shown in these data, who knows how huge these troops would be.
'Wait!' Robin's eyes were locked, as if he saw something special. 'Kr. Plan? Damn it, this file is Multiple Encryption, I can't crack it quickly.'
"Don't move!"
A strange sound came, and everyone turned their heads to find a burly man wearing a Golden Helmet, a Blue Battle Suit, and a uniquely shaped Golden Small Shield on his hand running towards them through the Gate. And beside him, there were also four or five Genetically Modified Beings with gray and white skin, slender bodies, and sharp teeth. Not only that, but a small genetically modified being they had seen before was perched on the man's shoulder.
"Wait?" The man stopped immediately when he saw everyone's faces. "Kid Flash? Robin? Aqualad? And Speedy? Why are you here?"
"I know you." Aqualad's body tensed. "Guardian, a Super Hero who has passed Justice League Level."
"That's right, that's me." Guardian nodded in acknowledgement.
"Then why are you here?" Kid Flash lowered his body slightly, ready to fight at any time. It has to be said that the previous simulation training was still useful, at least they knew to be ready for battle at any time.
"I am the Security Chief here." Guardian's tone was emotionless, like he was reading from a script. "You are illegally trespassing, quickly come with me to the Justice League to surrender."
"It's Justice..." Kid Flash wanted to argue, but was stopped by Aqualad beside him.
'No need to explain, Kid Flash.' Robin put away the Microcomputer. Except for the Multiple Encryption Kr. Plan, he had copied all the remaining data.
'We are here to explore the truth of Cadmus Labs under the order of the Justice League. As the Security Chief of Cadmus, Guardian has no reason not to receive the notification from the Justice League, so the other party is obviously abnormal.'
Through telepathy, Robin told everyone his speculation. Everyone lowered their bodies and entered a fighting state.
"It seems you are going to resist arrest." Guardian was like a robot. The feet on the head of the Genetically Modified Being on his shoulder glowed with a bewitching red light.
"Attack!"
Guardian waved his big hand, and the four or five Genetically Modified Beings let out ear-piercing screams and pounced with Razor Claws.
'Tactical Retreat!' Robin shouted in the Mind Link. 'Don't engage, the opponent's troops are more numerous than us!'
Kid Flash immediately understood and drew an arrow from his back, and immediately shot it out. Robin also took out a few Black Balls and threw them to the ground. The Black Balls exploded the moment they touched the ground, and Black Smoke instantly submerged everyone's bodies.
The arrow shot by Speedy also exploded in the air, and also emitted a burst of smoke, shrouding Guardian and several Genetically Modified Beings.
"Cough cough! Go to the doorway quickly! Cough cough!" Guardian coughed and shouted.
The Genetically Modified Beings immediately turned around and ran towards the Gate behind them, but they were ultimately a step slower. The Gate was tightly closed under Robin's maneuver.
'I locked it.' Robin said, and led everyone to run in the direction they came from. He didn't have time to download the Map of this Research Institute just now, so they could only go back the way they came.
At this moment, the Alarm of the Research Institute also sounded. When they ran to the Elevator Doorway, as expected, the Elevator had been locked.
Robin pulled out a Dart, slid to the Elevator, pried open the Control Panel with the Dart, connected the Data Cable, and opened the Elevator Lock in a few moments.
Without command, everyone ran into the Elevator in an orderly manner, and closed the Elevator Door before the Genetically Modified Beings could catch up.
Looking at the figures of the Genetically Modified Beings disappearing before their eyes, everyone present could not help but breathe a sigh of relief. So many Genetically Modified Beings could pile them to death even if they just piled up.
Aqualad took time to glance at the floor display and found that the Elevator was still going down.
'We are going down?' Aqualad looked at Robin.
'Bro! The Exit is upstairs!' Kid Flash pointed upwards.
'I know.' Robin tilted his head. 'But Kr. Plan is downstairs, on Floor Fifty-Two Below. Obviously, our exploration Mission is not yet complete, and the most critical step is still waiting for us.'
