Chapter 1

Archer aimed at me deliberately while shooting arrows, trying to cheer up the heartbroken Scarlett.

An arrow struck my left eye dead-on, piercing pain assaulted me as blood trickled down my cheek.

Amid gasps of shock, Scarlett let out a soft laugh.

"Archer, your archery skills really suck!"

Archer scratched his head, satisfied to see Scarlett's smiling face.

"Scarlett, after a whole month, I finally made you laugh."

Immersed in their joyous atmosphere, neither of them noticed that I was on the verge of fainting from pain.

It was an employee from the archery club who rushed over to support me, hurriedly using gauze to stop my bleeding.

"This is blatant intentional harm. We should call the police."

A righteous male employee couldn't help but speak up for me, pulling out his phone to dial 911.

Archer strode over, his face ashen, and swatted the male employee's phone to the ground with a flick of his hand.

The phone hit the floor with a sharp crack, its screen instantly covered in a spiderweb of cracks.

"My family affairs are none of your business. Know your place!"

Archer prevented him harshly, berating the employee as if he were scolding his own company's staff.

The male employee had a temper of his own and retorted defiantly, "You shot her left eye. That's a crime. We can't just ignore it."

Archer let out a cold laugh. He tilted my chin up, caressing my lips with his fingertips, while his other hand viciously yanked out the long arrow embedded in my eye.

With his fingers sealing my lips, I could only swallow my scream, transforming it into a muffled groan in my throat.

The arrow Archer pulled out had a bloody eyeball impaled on it, terrifying several female employees who screamed and huddled together.

He gently wiped the blood off with a tissue, revealing the eyeball's true appearance. This is a glass eye, nothing but a fake.

"Now you see clearly, don't try to make trouble where there isn't any."

"I'll never come to this store again!" Archer glared fiercely at all the staff.

He turned to wipe the blood from my face, comforting me in a gentle voice.

"If this one's ruined, it's ruined. I'll have an even better one custom-made for you."

"Would you prefer sapphires or green amber inlaid in the eye?"

I angrily pushed him away, "I don't want anything, I just want a divorce from you as soon as possible!"

Archer dropped his gentle demeanor and coldly instructed his secretary beside him.

"She's throwing a tantrum again. Take her home early."

Archer only wanted me to comply with his wishes. Whenever I showed the slightest disobedience, he would brutally confine me, and this time was no exception.

Moreover, Scarlett was here today, and he couldn't let me ruin Scarlett's good mood.

Archer had reserved a private room at Blue Dream Restaurant tonight. Without me as a third wheel, they would spend a sweet evening together.

I was sent back to Shaw Mansion by the secretary, hurriedly packing my bags in my room.

The real princess has returned, and I, this Cinderella, should know my place and get out quickly.Although I may be just an orphan compared to billionaire heiresses like Scarlett, even the humblest person has their dignity. I cannot tolerate Archer trampling on my human worth.

I lost my left eye saving Archer's life. Back then, he swore to marry me and protect me forever.

In the end, he mocked my missing eye to amuse the goddess of his heart.

I was wrong to ever set foot in the Song Corporation from the very beginning.

Initially, I simply wanted to repay Archer's kindness. I never imagined I'd make mistake after mistake until I found myself in such a desperate situation.

When I graduated college, I not only passed Song Corporation's recruitment but was also accepted to Cornell University abroad.

After careful consideration, I decided to give up graduate school and join Song Corporation. After all, without the Song Corporation Charity Fund's donations, I wouldn't be who I am today. I wanted to use my skills to give back to the company that funded my education.

Due to financial constraints, I rented a basement apartment near the office. Every day, I spent almost all my time working at the company except for sleeping.
