I rushed back, hurrying my steps.
I grabbed Zoran's collar and swung a punch at his face.
The crowd erupted in shocked cries.
Mr. Carlisle shouted, "Security! We have a troublemaker here!"
I let out a cold laugh.
Once I was his most promising heir, and now I'm nothing but a troublemaker!
"Hahaha~"
I laughed maniacally, my eyes bloodshot.
Mrs. Carlisle hurriedly ran forward, using her body to shield Zoran.
She was afraid I would hit him again.
Seraphina angrily stepped forward and slapped me across the face.
"Slap!"
"Have you lost your mind? What gives you the right to hit Zoran!"
I held my cheek, glaring at her with hatred.
"Ask him! Why did he forge my medical records and send them to the company's internal network, crushing my dreams of flying!"
Before Seraphina could respond,
Mrs. Carlisle frowned at me and spoke.
"Zoran is just a child, Alaric. Can't you, as his older brother, give in to him?"
I snorted coldly.
When Zoran was just found and took over my room, she said,
"Alaric, Zoran has suffered for so many years. Can't you just let him have this?"Zoran replaced me at the top school, she said.
"Alaric's mom knows you worked so hard to get into this college, but Zoran is my only son. Can't you just let him have this?"
This time I absolutely won't give in again!
I glared coldly at Zoran, as if looking at a dead man.
"If he doesn't clarify online about forging the medical records, I'll expose everything - how he took my place in college all these years, how he stole my championships and first-place wins!"
Seraphina reached out to calm me down.
"Zoran was just trying to ensure fairness in the pilot selection process. He didn't really do anything wrong. Do you need to get so worked up about it?"
Genevieve chimed in from the side.
"That's right, that's right. Zoran only revealed the truth. What did he do wrong?"
What did he do wrong?
I laughed bitterly and shot back at them: "He forged my medical records. Isn't that wrong?"
Seraphina and Genevieve looked at me with disdain, as if they didn't want to expose me.
I knew they blindly believed everything Zoran said.
Or perhaps they simply didn't care about any truth at all.
Whatever Zoran said must be right.
My eyes swept across everyone, a bitter smile tugging at my lips as I left.
The night was desolate.I walked until dawn, finally returning to my rundown rental apartment.
The phone rang.
I glanced down, the caller ID showed it was from the United States...
Given my special circumstances, they allowed me to interview via video call.
They also sent someone to escort me to the exam site, to evaluate various aspects of my qualifications.
Before saying goodbye, one of the leaders seemed very curious about me.
"Comrade Frost, have your family been New York City locals for generations?"
I shook my head.
"I don't know. I was switched at birth as a baby and raised by my adoptive parents."
Hearing this, the leader asked curiously again.
"What about the family you were switched with?"
"I'm not blood-related to them, so I don't know where my biological family is from either."
"Oh, I see..."
The leader mumbled, a barely noticeable glint flashing in his eyes.
During the days of waiting for news, I stayed cooped up at home.
Too lazy to cook lunch, I just boiled some noodles.
Just as I set the bowl on the table, I heard a knock at the door.
I put down the bowl and went to answer.
Seraphina and Genevieve entered, carrying gift boxes of various sizes.
Zoran followed behind them.
"What are you guys up to?"Seraphina smirked, her lips curving into a smile.
"I picked up a few little gifts for you on a whim," Genevieve chirped, continuing her chatter.
"We spent quite a while choosing these presents, you know."
