Parabol & Parabola

Its body appeared to be of white cloth covered in various holes that revealed small vents from within, goggles tightly strapped onto its head that resembled the same shape as the vents on its body. The man mumbled, "M-My arm..." As it began slowly being pulled toward himself by the humanoid creature restraining his right arm. I need to get out of here, but whatever the hell this Boon is, isn't letting me go! There's no way no one heard the shots, damnit! I just wanted to get in and get out! Pick them off one by one, but now I'm stuck!

Cameron slowly got out of his restful slumber, looking around bleary-eyed due to the sound of a suppressed pistol going off.

"T-This fucking drone!" The man ripped something away from his eye, an ability manifesting in the form of a man with sunglasses, heart iconography spread across their attire. It grabbed the man's arm, pulling it away from the Boon that was previously holding them in place.

As he distanced himself from the opposing Boon, it went to grab at him; in that instance, everyone by now had woken up in the house. The Twins pulled themselves off the bed in alarm while Cameron jumped up from the couch, gun at the ready.

"Heartbreaker!" He screamed out, destroying the wall beside him and spiraling into it as shots rang out. Now unobscured, a beautiful man with long brown hair smirked on the ground, pulled up by his ability, stepping behind what remained of the wall as Cameron continued to shoot at them. "Watch out, bud!"

The lights in the villa turn on in a blinding brilliance, and everyone from their rooms now exits in an attempt to find the assassin.

"Scary~! But... Heartbreaker's got my back~! That fuckin' drone got in the way, but the real fight starts now, assholes!" Cameron rushed to attack the man, Kamila rushing in as well, gun at the ready. "Now look at my splendor~!" He grasped the air, suddenly, both Cameron and Kamila fell to the ground, clutching their chests in pain, the Twins on the other side of the wall doing so as well, barely gasping for air. "Heartbreaker~!" He cackled loudly, "Anyone who gazed upon my perfect form will have their hearts squeezed upon seeing me~! Now, in other news."

The man walked back into the room of the Twins as Aran and Luce attempted to rush up the stairs to their room.

"At this rate, I'm gonna get jumped." The man chuckled, grabbing the weakened Twins, smashing out the glass at the back of the room, jumping out from the window, and getting caught by his ability just before he reached the bottom.

Right when Aran had arrived, she witnessed as their enemy ran, rounding the corner of the villa. Aran lowered herself to the ground, summoning her Boon, "Luce, follow them from the back!" She suggested as Luce arrived at what was the Twins' room.

Luce let Aran's Boon carry him down to the ground floor outside as she jumped from the balcony within the villa, rushing out the front door.

The man stood out in the open, holding both Twins by the back of their necks, basking beneath moonlight. "You got my hands tied, but I'm not out of options."

Pop!

Aran noticed in time, The Pot flying out from her shadow, striking a bullet from the air that was fired out from afar. Aran saw the gleam of a rifle scope from afar, the shot forcing her back inside, hidden behind the walls of the villa. "Luce! Watch out, there's a sniper! Stay behind cover!"

"Okay!" Luce yelled back.

Aran's gaze found itself on an odd bug-like drone floating next to her, staring straight at her. She met its gaze and a gunshot followed right after, piercing through the wall and straight into her thigh. Aran yelped, instinctively breaking the drone with one of her Boon's punches. She fell to the floor, clutching her bleeding thigh.

"Aran!?"

"I-I'm alright! It's nothing, stay where you are!"

"The light is my domain..." Luce mumbled to himself. "I... I think I can take out the sniper!"

"Luce, no! W--"

The man holding the Twins lifted them both into the air. "I'm holdin' these two hostage! If you attack my sniper, they die; if you attack me, you die. A fun game, no?" He looked at the two. "I take it back, actually," His Boon, Heartbreaker, appeared out from behind him, launching its fist toward Nello's head. In a split second, the Boon from earlier that stopped his previous assassination attempt appeared, redirecting Heartbreaker's punch. "So it came from you!"

Cassini's Division flew out, flaring out its wings, the reflection of the moon beaming out in a massive area. Heartbreaker's user winced slightly, still holding the Twins, but in the distance, the sniper retreated, blinded by the light emitted from its wings.

Heartbreaker's user spun his Boon around, directing it at Nero instead. "Stop!" Nello screamed, attempting to will his ability to protect Nero, but failing to do so.

Nero's eyes shot open, "No!" He cried out, closing his eyes once more as suddenly, Heartbreaker miraculously missed. "L-Let go! Please!" He flailed, eyes still closed, not realizing what he just did, his words coming out in an onomatopoeia of text. The man was inclined to let him go, astonished by the abilities present before him.

Aran was going to assist the Twins before a shot from the sniper slammed against the edge of the door that she pressed herself against, causing her to retreat.

"How many meters away is the sniper!?" Luce asked, yelling out to Aran.

Aran peeked back out from behind cover, spotting them. "60 meters, not as far as I'd think, but still far!"

"60..."

The Heartbreaker's user let go of both Twins, suddenly then clasping their hands together, causing both of them, along with Luce, who had now seen the man's face, to fall prone onto the floor, clutching their chests in pain. In one final effort from Luce to get the sniper, Cassini's Division flew out as far as it could, flaring out its wings violently as it concentrated light into its chest. It took that concentrated light and focused it onto its finger, using the sniper's scope to extend its range, firing two concentrated beams of light. The scope melted on contact, the rounds in the gun exploding in response as the two beams phased through the sniper's body, taking them out for good.

The user of Heartbreaker panicked immediately, noticing that the sniper had been taken out. Aran took this opportunity to reveal herself, Heartbreaker attempting to squeeze her heart like everyone else, but failing. "W-What!? How!?

"You're fuckin' average, asshole!" Once she got into range, two strikes were cracked out into Heartbreaker's skull, sending him to his knees.

Nero screamed out, "Kick his ass!" Tears in his eyes.

Aran, Nello heard this, clicking something in the brain, somehow allowing Nello to regain control of his Boon, leading to both of them beating the assassin into the ground until the ground cracked beneath their feet. After the effect ended, the man underneath them was now reduced to a pulp. They blinked, stunned by the sudden involuntary response they just experienced.

Nero appeared to be in shock as well, glancing between the two.

Luce got up to his feet, averting his eyes to the half-dead man on the floor, crossing over to Aran and the Twins. "Are you all alright?"

Nero blinked as well. "What did I just do?"

Nello's face brightened up immediately. "I think we just got our Boons!"

"W-What should we call them?" Nero got up from his feet.

Aran sighed, exhaustion within every step as she limped back inside, Luce stopping her. "Aran... you're bleeding." As he checked up on Aran, Emilia and Kamila exited the house with Cameron, running over to check on everyone.

Aran looked at Luce. "I'm alright... It'd be nice if we had someone who could heal, huh?"

"Let's bring you inside."

Kamila noticed Luce bringing Aran inside and opted to assist them, sitting her down on one of the various couches laid out in the living room.

Nero cupped his chin, thinking on a name for his Boon. "I... I... Spe--. Parabol?"

"And... mine is Parabola?" Nello followed up, both of them smiling at each other.

What a lucky day~! Cameron placed a hand on one of the Twins, sighing. "I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Nero looked to Aran, who was inside now. "Uh... I think Aran was the only one immune to the other guy's ability, so... everyone barely could handle the pain." Nero shrugged.

"Glad you guys are lenient on me, I guess."

Emilia looked at the unconscious man on the floor, looking back at the group that was still there. "We should interrogate this man. It's the perfect opportunity, really."

Nero placed a fist atop his palm. "You're right. We didn't really bother interrogating these guys up until now, cause we were on the move, but... we're at our villa!"

Cameron was already hoisting the guy onto his back, bringing them back inside so they could tie them up.
