It was half past two in the morning. Carl, navigated through the overgrown shrubs, his camera clutched tightly in his hand. He crouched behind a thick bush, the leaves rustling softly as he peeked through a gap. Just a few meters away, in the dappled shade behind the gym, stood Susan and Rubble.
They were engaged in a hushed conversation, their voices barely audible over the chirping of crickets. Susan, leaned against the wall as she listened to Rubble. He stood close, his broad shoulders almost touching her, they both looked sad and somewhat excited at the same time, Rubble was more excited actually. Peculiar expression Carl might say.
Suddenly, the air crackled with a sudden shift in energy. Rubble leaned closer to Susan, his hand reaching up to gently cup her cheek. A blush crept up her neck as she looked at him, and with a soft sigh, she leaned into his touch. He pinned her to the wall, their bodies pressed close, and their lips touched. He grabbed her jacket, aiming to get rid of it, and the door behind them closed with a soft click, denying the chance of getting seen.
Carl, hidden behind the bush, lowered his camera with a sigh. He had captured the moment, but it was a moment he wished he hadn't seen. There was a sweetness to it, a tenderness in their eyes that spoke of a shared secret. He couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead for them, what secrets this seemingly innocent kiss held, and what secrets the closed door concealed.
Will she even consider going out with me? Even after I threaten her to expose their secret relationship?
Is it even wise to threaten her? What if she attacks me?
Will I be able to defend myself? Am I strong enough?
These were the questions in Carl's mind, but nonetheless he'll carry out with his plan…it is something worth trying. Well at least that's what he thinks. He fancied Susan since the first time he saw her. She doesn't remember, but they were in kindergarten together. Back then, as Carl remembered, she once defended him from the bullies, she was brave and strong for a four-year-old.
"She probably doesn't even remember me," he said to himself, and chuckled.
It doesn't matter whether she remembers him or not. All that matters is that he has a valuable piece of information that has the power to put Susan on her knees for him. He believed in love, but he also believed in dominance. He took a one last glance at the shade.
"You guys are really doing it…" he sounded sad. "I'd love to have been your first."
He turned off the camera, and slowly retraced his steps back to where he came from. Ignoring the faint blue glow that emanated from the shade.
