Corbin pulled Caroline to her feet and affectionately smoothed her hair back.
“What are you doing?”
They looked down to see Amelie standing there, her hands on her hips as she looked up at them, her eyebrows raised so high it made her eyes bulge.
“Uh, hi, Amelie. This is Corbin Chevalier, he’s…”
“I know who he is.” Amelie declared, her voice rising. “What I asked was, what are you doing? You should be with Aldrick, don’t you know?”
“Excuse me?” Caroline said, scrunching her face in a mixture of confusion and disbelief.
“Miss Veilleux, please keep up with your classmates. We still have a lot to see before orientation is over,” Professor Swindon instructed. Amelie’s glaring gaze switched from Caroline to Corbin and back again as her foot tapped angrily against the ground.
“Now, Miss Veilleux!” said the professor.
“Ugh!” Amelie declared before she turned and stormed away through the trees.
“I suggest you two call it a day and hit the showers,” he suggested dryly.
